A long weekend - ingrid in kenya

August to november 2009. 6th Oct, 2009 at 6:09 PM. Some of the critique I understood, but some of it seemed to me to be completely irrelevant. I’m not going to do anything about it though, as I don’t really care. It is well above a passing grade, so it’s fine. In the evening, I was a bit too tired to do much, so I stayed in which was probably a good idea considering the long day which was to follow. As I’ve experienced on the countryside of both Kenya and Tanzania, they were shouting Mzungu! At me, and w...

Zanzibar! - ingrid in kenya

August to november 2009. 28th Sep, 2009 at 8:59 PM. We jumped on a dala-dala (pretty much the same as a matatu) and went into Stonetown. Lottie's not staying there anymore, but she knew people we could stay at for the weekend - a very nice Norwegian girl and a random Dutch/something guy. I'm trying to remember what we did Saturday, but seem to be failing. at least we did some walking around Stonetown, and I had a nap because I hadn't slept much the previous night (too hot! It was a birthday celebration f...

August to november 2009. 11th Sep, 2009 at 11:14 AM. The doctor didn't seem to know what was wrong, when I finally managed to get there on Wednesday. My lungs were fine, but apparently I'd gotten a throat infection. I tried to suggest the new flu (because it surely felt like a flu! As for my four roommates, they've all been coughing as well, and three of them have been home one or two days too. But none of them have had a temperature, lucky bastards. 1 comment Leave a comment. 12th Sep, 2009 10:44 (UTC).

Thursday, July 29, 2010. Goodbye and Hello; Hello and Goodbye. On our way out of Maids and a little BBQ in Darby's garden. Punting (here with Aline and Brady) and saying farewell to Pink Thunderbird. And so my year ended in England. It went by in such a flash it all feels like a dream now (especially when I look back at all the photos and all that has happened between the beginning and now). It is only appropriate that I now retire this blog as Ingrid is no longer in England. Since I am off to law sc...
Ingrid in France
Thursday, April 8, 2010. I’m sorry it’s been a long time since I updated – but I finally did something worth writing about! We got there around 8:00 pm Friday night. Our hostel turned out to be very nice. Our rooms were more like apartments than hotel rooms, so we were able to cook our own meals. We hung out and regrouped Friday night, ordering pizza like typical Americans. It was an interesting and fun experience. On Sunday, we woke up and went back into the city. We tried going into a cathedral, bu...

August to november 2009. I am leaving kesho. 9th Nov, 2009 at 11:18 AM. I'm sitting here in Art Caffe yet again, pretending to work but not really doing anything else than reading newspapers and checking in on facebook, twitter and mail. It's been a while since I wrote, but I'm not going to recap what has been happening. I just felt it appropriate to write here one last time before I leave, because at 2 am Wednesday morning (practically still Tuesday) I will be off to the airport! Now six weeks in Amster...

Ingrid in Moldova
Saturday, September 5, 2009. I have been in the US for 2 weeks now, and it has been a whirlwind of seeing friends, family, moving, and job hunting. I have barely had anytime to even check my email, but I now have time to put down some thoughts about my summer. Through those challenges I learned that God can do great things, even things don't go as planned! Sunday, August 23, 2009. I just wanted to let everyone know that I am home safe and sound! A final reflection of my summer coming soon! It is very bus...
