Ingrid in France

Thursday, April 8, 2010. I’m sorry it’s been a long time since I updated – but I finally did something worth writing about! We got there around 8:00 pm Friday night. Our hostel turned out to be very nice. Our rooms were more like apartments than hotel rooms, so we were able to cook our own meals. We hung out and regrouped Friday night, ordering pizza like typical Americans. It was an interesting and fun experience. On Sunday, we woke up and went back into the city. We tried going into a cathedral, bu...

Ingrid in France: February 2010

http://www.ingridinfrance.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Monday, February 8, 2010. February is here already? In France, you can add re- to anything after it happens once. I apologize for the delay of this update; life is busy here! I changed levels in my classes, and have been moving around figuring out a new schedule and homework. My translation homework takes the longest, and makes me doubt my French skills with all of the obscure vocabulary they give us. It was a huge sweep. Yesterday afternoon a friend of mine hosted a party at his apartment (just across t...

Ingrid in France: Day 15

http://www.ingridinfrance.blogspot.com/2010/01/day-15.html

Sunday, January 24, 2010. It’s hard to believe I’ve only been in France for two weeks! It already feels like home. This may be in part to the stomach flu that caused me to bond with my new apartment for three days. My host mother was very helpful, and I am glad to be better! My friends here are great. People come from all over, and we make fun of each others' accents a lot. I seem to have acquired a strong MinnesOta accent at school. Oops. Real classes start Thursday, I will be taking two core classes wi...

Ingrid in France: Heia Norge!

http://www.ingridinfrance.blogspot.com/2010/03/heia-norge.html

Monday, March 1, 2010. This is mostly because the sun sets so early. I was lucky to be in Norway the second week of the Winter Olympics. Norwegians are crazy for winter sports! For the men’s cross country skiing relay, 800 people showed up at the student center to watch it on the big screen. We couldn’t even find seats. And when they weren’t watching skiing, they were out doing it! I never skied (I prefer water), but we did go ice skating. The founder of St. Olaf is buried in the cemetery. I tried moose,...

Ingrid in France: Bonjour de France!

http://www.ingridinfrance.blogspot.com/2010/01/bonjour-de-france.html

Friday, January 15, 2010. My orientation for my CIEE group was Monday at noon. We signed a “language contract” which stated that we would try our best to speak in French all semester. Our group got basic information about our stay in Paris, our semester, etc. then moved into our rooms. We then went out to dinner, and a few of us hung out after that. I stayed on the inside of the “bâteau mouche” the whole time. January 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM. I dont understand half of those words! March 1, 2010 at 4:46 AM.

Does wearing a lot of green make me Irish? January 25, 2010. To fill you in with my basic living arrangements, I live in Kilmurry 54. My address is:. House 54 Room 6. My flat in Kilmurry Village. At least it was cleaned up by the time I rolled out of bed this morning. My backyard has horses. Does your backyard have horses? So what do you want to know? There a...

Does wearing a lot of green make me Irish? February 18, 2010. Last weekend Jeremiah and I went to Kinsale and Cork, two of the most southern cities in Ireland. On Friday we stayed in a hostel owned by a friendly older woman named Joy (? Jeremiah did say that my pea coat looks ridiculously American. Me looking delighted to be awake at the hostel Saturday morning. The pinnacle of small town cutesy. Daltons, the pub we went to Friday night, is the red building. My forehead snuck into the scenery. Does wearing a lot of green make me Irish? Ireland on the Horizon. January 18, 2010. I still can’t believe I’m actually going. I had to jump through so many hoops to get this far. Right up to the end, in fact, I had troubles. Does wearing a lot of green make me Irish? February 8, 2010. On Sunday, Jeremiah, Dave and I went shopping downtown. When I say we went shopping, I mean that Jeremiah bought a much-needed belt and Dave examined the remote controlled tarantulas, while I perused the sale rack at the expensive shops. I had to hit up H and M, but my new favorites are A/wear, River Island and Zara’s. From → Uncategorized. Larr; Ireland Week 2: Galway and Getting Comfortable. Kinsale and Cork →. Leave one →.

Does wearing a lot of green make me Irish? From Berlin to Amsterdam, and Jeremiah’s horrible luck. May 12, 2010. I realize I still have to write about Austria, Czech Republic, southern Germany, Spain, and Italy, but this trip is the latest and I just have to get it out of my head before I study for my Environmental Managing 2 exam that I have at noon tomorrow. Thanks Shannon Airport, you are the best! Here is the Brazilian snack Coxinha I ate with Denis and Rodrigo. The so-called Fascist Beer. Along the ...

On Saturday, Elaine, Becky, Una (sorry girl, I’m not sure how to spell your AWESOME name) and I found out that we’d be joining the small group of girls from Jabba the Huck to make a super team called JAB-UL. Så lang tid er det igjen. Onsdag 16. juli 2008. Da ble det ny blogg, selv om det var noen som hadde innvendinger mot det :-p. Den nye addressen er: ingridgotvassli.blogg.no. I'm the rain king. I følge vertsmo...

Down Under - part 2

Down Under - part 2. Mitt andre år i Australia. Thursday, October 7, 2010.

Thursday, July 29, 2010. Goodbye and Hello; Hello and Goodbye. On our way out of Maids and a little BBQ in Darby's garden. Punting (here with Aline and Brady) and saying farewell to Pink Thunderbird. Saturday, September 5, 2009. I have been in the US for 2 weeks now, and it has been a whirlwind of seeing friends, family, moving, and job hunting. I have barely had anytime to even check my email, but I now have time to put down some thoughts about my summer. Through those challenges I learned that God can do great things, even things don't go as planned! Sunday, August 23, 2009. I just wanted to let everyone know that I am home safe and sound! A final reflection of my summer coming soon! It is very bus...
