Then everything changed and my running became sporadic and eventually petered out. I came up with a lot of excuses. For a while, I used an injured foot as an excuse to not go for a run. Well, it could have been worse if I persisted to run despite the injury. But still. Then I realized it was my flabby midsection jostling as I ran. That feeling after I walk up a steep hill.

I think 21 kilometers is long but not long enough for me so I dabbled in marathons too. The moment I started running, there’s no turning back. And I have no regrets whatsoever. Besides, I have a few finisher’s medals to show for it. Not that I’m bragging or anything. Something to look forward to. YOU vs. YOU.
