Danese Joan: Magic Window Cookies
http://danesejoan.blogspot.com/2011/12/magic-window-cookies.html
Friday, December 2, 2011. I was up bright and early to begin today's cookie. This recipe is one I haven't tried before, but was the first recipe I thought of when I began putting ideas together for this project, coming from the first cookbook I purchased after Terry and I were married back in 1982, "Betty Crocker's Baking Classics." The book itself is falling apart from all the use it has seen over many years. Ringing in my ears also helped! It was a great way to start my day. Here is the recipe:. This i...

Danese Joan: Breathe
http://danesejoan.blogspot.com/2012/04/breathe.html
Thursday, April 19, 2012. I dedicate this post to all who suffer from the effects of sexual abuse in their childhood, like me. My hope, as I share my continued struggle to heal, is to encourage you to not give up on yourself- no matter how great the pain is or how heavy the burden inside feels. Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, "This is what the sovereign Lord says: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, that they may live.". What do you want from me?

Danese Joan: Fluttering Wings
http://danesejoan.blogspot.com/2015/12/fluttering-wings.html
Wednesday, December 23, 2015. As I approach the manger, like the little drummer boy I wonder, what can I give? I have no gold, frankincense, or myrrh. I don't even play an instrument. But what I do have are these words. Humbly, I offer this story as my gift, to the baby Jesus, Saviour of the world. And to his mother, who said yes. For what child can be born without a mother? Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. The sky was gone. The mist began to lift. What if you’re pregnant? The snowf...

Danese Joan: FaceTime
http://danesejoan.blogspot.com/2015/07/facetime.html
Tuesday, July 21, 2015. My morning usually begins with the familiar and welcome sound of FaceTime ringing on my ipad. Within seconds, after touching the accept button, I see.connecting. connecting, and there, in seconds, appears this sweet face. Harper turned a delightful 2 years old on June 30th. Meanwhile, Harper continued to freely roam the living room, the kitchen, and her bedroom. Her Mommy and I following along as she wondered. It's free range all the way. She is Batman, after all. I was up bright ...

Danese Joan: Easter Arrival
http://danesejoan.blogspot.com/2016/03/easter-arrival.html
Saturday, March 26, 2016. The bedcover is pink and white, broadly checked, and when I pull it up to my neck at night in my new bedroom, I feel safe, secure, at rest. It's taken me a long time to get here, but boy is my arrival here in Bethlehem sweet. Bethlehem, as in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, "The Christmas City.". The perfect place for a girl who loves all things Christmas to land.on her feet. In one day. Fresh air does make a girl hungry, after all. Know what I love about flying a kite? Thank you for j...

Danese Joan: To Dream and then....... to Dance.
http://danesejoan.blogspot.com/2010/12/to-dream-and-then-to-dance.html
Wednesday, December 22, 2010. To Dream and then. to Dance. The dream begins. a little girl's jewelry box opens and in it a small ballerina with a white tulle tutu turns round and round as the music plays. The music slows and so does the ballerina until both come to a complete stop. It's bedtime so reluctantly the top is closed and the ballerina hides within her box- waiting, hoping for someone to open the box again. Enter middle age and the fast approach of my 50th birthday next May and that word DANCE- ...

http://danesejoan.blogspot.com/2010/09/in-loving-memory-mom-grandma-edith.html
Tuesday, September 14, 2010. In Loving Memory-"Mom", "Grandma", Edith Gerta Grandfield, June 7, 1926- August 20, 2010. So much changed so quickly. From travel plans to a diagnosis of cancer; life and then.death. We spent the weekend in North Carolina with Malcolm, Chris, and their daughters Christa and Ashleigh remembering Mom, both with tears and laughter. I am glad we had that short time together as a family to reminisce. Surviving Mom and Dad, their most lasting legacies, are their children and their ...
