Not So Far Journeys. The story of the Iron Goat began over 100 years ago when the last spike of the Great Northern Railway was driven, marking the crossing of the Cascades at Stevens Pass and completing one of the most remarkable engineering feats of the 19th century. There is a total of 9 mile s of the old railroad, now called the Iron Goat Trail of which we did about 7 today. Will have to go back in the fall and maybe make it to Wellington to see the old avalanche train disaster. See Trail Map Here.
