My brother and his family flew up from California as a surprise and we all met at Riverview for dinner. We parked right up front and had not lines or anything to get in. It was a perfect night, just a little cold. The train was my favorite part.we missed that last year because of the line. I kind of LOVE dressing her up, thinking about her outfit, coordinating her hair bows.it's fun having a little girl! This top picture never fails to make me laugh. Monday, February 28, 2011. We had two jobs over the weekend- helping with Awana and doing construction. Friday, our kids helped with Awana. Kids watching Awana from the outside of our property. Game time for the younger kids! Cheering on the Green team! Even our teachers participated! Helping kids memorize Bible verses. The 8th graders prepared and sang a couple of songs for the kids. Saturday, we helped continue build the wall around the Care Center property. Taking a little break. And we are done!

In the Dominican Republic Christmas is celebrated in a different way. The three dates I write about are the important dates celebrated here. The second date is Navidad or Christmas. Saturday, February 28. In a season of grief, after my grandpa’s death, part of me is empty. My emotions on high, my world has been a little cloudier. Yet in this sorrow, I have leaned more on God. For when we are low, we realize our need for God. We thirst for his comfort and long for his presence. In this season of drought, like the dust which we come from, I am no longer anxious. I trust in my Father. I know He hears me, listening to my praying,. I can only focus on what lies before me in the now.

Tuesday, January 11, 2011. Leap and the net will appear. A roller coaster ride from one way of being into another. How do we let go and trust that what lies ahead of us might be right even though it looks different than how we imagined things to be.
