Monday, November 29, 2010. A dog even enjoyed sleeping under me! Sadly, the house of two sisters (Melissa and Lisa) in our program at Anija burned down this weekend. Apparently a neighboring family was cooking some rice and left the house when a spark (or something? Sunday, June 19, 2011. Please pray for one of our kindergartners at Anija. We just found out that her mom was put in prison because of her involvement with drugs. Her dad is apparently taking care of her but we aren't convinced this is the best situation for her. We are praying and people are talking to see if living at our residential site, the Ark, would be an option for her. June 22, 2011 at 3:25 PM. Oh dear God, Please give her strength! Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Adventure of the Night. Even though she hesitated at the beginning, I convinced her she could do it. After a little screaming, shoe throwing, and then searching, she found it and conquered. Or as my roommate would say, we "demolished" it. Can you even tell what it was? A typical GIGANTIC cockroach. Sunday, August 29, 2010. Update on Construction at Anija. Here's a couple of pictures of Anija's campus. Our new soccer field (almost)! Lots of progress has been made but there's still a few more things to do before the kids can start playing on it. The two classrooms upstairs were finished this summer by work teams and a crew of Dominicans. The seventh and eighth graders are using these classrooms. I BOUGHT A MOTORCYCLE!
