Saturday, July 24, 2010. Corpse Flower and Butterfly Exhibit. The Corpse Flower at the Houston Museum of Natural Science blossomed this weekend, emitting a stench that smells like rotting flesh (hence the name). At the blossom's peak yesterday, the smell made some people throw up and it took a couple showers to get the stench off your skin and out of your hair! Luckily, it wasn't quite that bad when we saw it. This flower is very rare and only blossoms once every several years. The Cape: Old Silver Beach.
