July 2, 2015. Time to start the work of General Convention. Today is day 8 of the General Convention. It is very likely that we will finish up all the major legislation today. Yesterday we adopted two resolutions on marriage; Amen and amen! As the Church we are now acknowledging and including ALL the Baptized in ALL the sacraments! Much done, much to do in next three days! July 1, 2015. Today, Tuesday, was in many ways typical for General Convention. I was at my committee (Ecumenical and Interreligious Relations) meeting by 7:30 AM. That was followed by our daily Eucharist. Worship is one of the blessings and bright spots of GC. It serves the purpose of reminding me why we are here. That session ended with a farewell tribute to Katharine Jefferts Schorii as she finishes her term as Presiding Bishop on November 1.
