I’ll come back to addressing the Sierras soon, but for now take my word when I say there was no shortage of snow. As a result, there were an awful lot of hikers who felt uncomfortable traveling and/or navigating through the mountains, so they either flip-flopped to another section or quit the trail all together. The same thing applies to the trail, and I think sometimes people lose sight of that.
