Al Hurriyah: November 2014
https://hurriyah-tunisia.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 18 November 2014. Ahlan wa Sahlan (welcome). It has been my dream to visit Palestine for 10 years, and finally, I am here. Palestine doesn't have its own airport or control over its own borders because of the Israeli illegal occupation of the land so I, with a heavy heart, flew into Tel Aviv. So because of my birthplace, name and a little luck, I was paid little attention to and passed through immigration without problem. Crossing checkpoints can take hours and you never know how long Israeli so...

Al Hurriyah: April 2012
https://hurriyah-tunisia.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 18 April 2012. This is for Palestine, Ramallah, West Bank, Gaza. In my first month of European Voluntary Service, I spent time considering which projects in the youth centre and in the local community needed additional support and where I would spend my working week. During this time I also thought about combining my greatest passion, humanitarian issues, with in my opinion, the best vehicle to inspire people, cinema. The next film we screened was 'The Lemon Tree' directed by Israeli Eran Rikl...

Al Hurriyah: December 2014
https://hurriyah-tunisia.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Friday, 19 December 2014. What's so special about Arab countries anyway? For a lot of people at home, our perception of Arab countries and people comes from what we see on the news. War torn lands, refugees fleeing, dictators and human rights abuses are the messages we are bombarded with. And dismally, for some people and places, this is the case. But what about the other side of the coin? There has to be some good, right? The Arabic language, frustratingly difficult though it is, is rich and beautiful.

Al Hurriyah: October 2012
https://hurriyah-tunisia.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 31 October 2012. Tunisia 2012: A Transition Period. I know that physically, I look like a completely different girl to the one who left Edinburgh in March. My level of attention to my appearance is probably about 10% of what is was. Gone are the days of fake tan, false eyelashes and skyscraper heels. Gone, and good riddance I might add! I probably fooled most. Thank God I didn't fool myself. Coming to Tunisia was one of the best decisions I've made in my life. The same things that deep down we...

Al Hurriyah: Inside Israel's Military Courts - visiting Ofer
https://hurriyah-tunisia.blogspot.com/2015/03/inside-israels-military-courts-visiting.html
Wednesday, 11 March 2015. Inside Israel's Military Courts - visiting Ofer. Ofer - UN photograph. This week, I attended a trial of my friend Mohammad Alazza. The first waiting area. Unfortunately, my friends lawyer was unable to attend, meaning his case will be yet again postponed. However this was not before the judge tried to convince him to accept his sentence without his lawyer being present and the prosecutor recommending he goes to prison and is fined. We are the last to leave Ofer military court th...
