Writing Possibilities...: April 2011

http://writingpossibilities.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 13, 2011. J is for Juggling. Wasn't made up out of thin air, and I know my 7 hour drive will feel more like 17 hours by the time it's all done! I'm just hoping they take an hour or two nap. Between oil changes, new brakes, hair cuts, blog posts, and an SCBWI class in NYC, I haven't had much time to work on my manuscript. Not to mention that I have my son's Spring party at school (did I mention I'm the class parent) on Friday right before I get on the road. Labels: A to Z Challenge. I did...

Writing Possibilities...: H is for Home

http://writingpossibilities.blogspot.com/2011/04/h-is-for-home.html

Sunday, April 10, 2011. H is for Home. I'm a day late with "H" because I had the hardest time figuring out what to write about. Well here is my attempt at "H" and since I'm working at the library right now and I have reading and writing to get to, I'll make this short. Home is where the heart is, blah, blah, blah. Home is where the chaos is. Home is where I write, well of course it is. I don't have a writing office, after all, who does? Where do you write? Labels: A to Z Challenge. J is for Juggling.

Writing Possibilities...: February 2011

http://writingpossibilities.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Wednesday, February 23, 2011. 2011 Debut Author Challenge. As you know, I read YA books as part of my writer’s training. With that in mind, I decided to participate in Story Siren’s 2011 Debut Author Challenge. The challenge requires participants to read and review at least 12 books by debut YA or MG authors during 2011. This is an exciting way to create interest in new authors and get the word out about their work. The deadline to sign-up for the challenge is March 1. Tuesday, February 22, 2011. I would...

Writing Possibilities...: I is for Inciting Incident

http://writingpossibilities.blogspot.com/2011/04/i-is-for-inciting-incident.html

Tuesday, April 12, 2011. I is for Inciting Incident. Since I began writing, I've started and stopped several manuscripts. One thing these manuscripts have in common (besides not being very good) is that none of them have an inciting event or catalyst. I didn't know such a thing existed or was necessary when in the early stages of my writing. What is the furthest into a story you've ever written an inciting event? Labels: A to Z Challenge. Inciting incident. event. April 12, 2011 at 1:57 PM. I like to thi...

Paper Hangover: If You Liked...

http://paperhangover.blogspot.com/2012/01/if-you-liked_18.html

Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Who’s up for a little historical fiction? The bar is set high for publishable manuscripts in this genre. So you can almost be sure that when you pick up a historical novel it will be filled with a rich landscape and details galore. In this sense, historical fiction can rival the world building in the most high fantasy books. Decide for yourself if today’s selections are worthy of their place on the historical shelf. If you liked…. Then you might like…. I had sandy hair. Lady ...
