A short distance away is the Boundary Bay or Georgia Straight destination with trails or the Reifel bird sanctuary in Ladner, that is very interesting. Point Roberts, U.S.A. is just a short hop down the road but you must have a passport to enter. The beauty of it is check in time is 3pm; check out is 11am but it is not a strick rule.
