The power bill was getting a little hight so we replaced the washer and dryer with more efficient models. Most of the wood came from the neighbors ( Al Jensen and Sons. Scrap pile. Sheila makes do with what she finds:. The new machines are in place and the frame work for the shelves are in place. Sheila is confirming that her supplies will fit. They do. The doors were made from wood from the scrap pile at Muddy Creek. Sheila even gets a folding table with the machines and shelves.
Beams For Storage

During the construction, we needed more room, so I found a couple of extra 2 X 4 and made a quick and dirty bike rack. It was sagging and looked awful. After getting a few throw away boards from the saw mill, a beam was made and installed. This was much needed improvement. Last winter, I received more board from the mill. A great place to store and dry them is on top of the beam. The plastic pipe is for the garden. These beams have proved to be very handy and useful, so 2 more were made for the mud room.
Shelves For Sails

The 420 sail storage used to be on the work bench. The work bench was moved next to the outboard storage. Another staffer did a fine job of using lines to mount shelvers. The requirement for shelves were none in front of windows. I offered to work with the staff to create a good storage unit but the director quickly shot that offer down. The new shelf is 30" deep, 8' high and 8' long and holds uses 49 pipes. Design: HammerFlex DNN Skin by Christoc.com.

Site their is much useful information for buildings. Their I found a diagram that shows hot air going across the floor back into the return air ducts. Also there was a diagram showing heat coming from the floor to the ceiling. Putting a cold air return on the second floor was not too practical, but I did it anyway. This is a view from the 3rd floor at the wall being expanded for the duct. 2 X 4 walls do not big enough for the air flow, so the wall was moved out by 2" to allow more air to flow.

Many PFD's are stored on the floor. Concrete contains moisture. Mold likes moisture. PFD's can be wet. Wet means moisture and mold likes moisture. So PFD's stored on concrete do not dry and mold can grow. Here on hangers they have a chance to dry. It looks like at least 20 PFD's can be stored here. 20 PFD on the floor would take up a little more room than this thing. Design: HammerFlex DNN Skin by Christoc.com.
