When I was growing up in the 1970's and 1980's Antietam Dairy's milkman would bring 2-4 glass jars of milk to the metal milk box on our front porch a couple times a week. Friday, June 24, 2011. In Our Back Yard. One of my teenagers just finished a four day hike along the Appalachian Trail. She had prepared for three years beforehand at a camp for girls. I had the privilege of driving some of the members of her group to a trail head and seeing them off. They were loaded down with huge backpacks filled with food, tents, sleeping bags, and clothes. Wednesday, August 31, 2011. This is a great time of year for fresh fruit here in Waynesboro! My favorite fruit stand is Rinehart Orchards. It is on the Maryland side of Midvale Road (the road across from KFC in Rouzerville). For $9 you can get a bushel of peaches or nectarines, or a big, old bag of apples! You could spend $30 on fruit at the supermarket and still not get as much quality fruit as you get at this road side stand. We go stock up every two weeks throughout the fall! And it's good fruit!
