Exploring some of Virginia's best hikes! Mt Rogers – from Massey Gap, Grayson Highlands State Park. August 7, 2011 by Virginia Hiker. My son and I recently hiked to the top of Mt. Rogers. Although there is no view from the top of Mt. Rogers, there are plenty of good vistas along the way. Also, seeing the wild ponies made this hike one of our favorites. Before the day of the hike we spent the night at Grayson Highlands State Park. Our camp site at Grayson Highlands State Park. Trailhead at Massey Gap.
