From the brain of Nadia Cornier. All I want is a hot chocolate. Oct 28th, 2008 at 6:21 PM. 10:35, walked into the office. Mostly wet - it's pouring outside. I had scheduled a meeting with Chris at 10:30 to go over (1) our need for a marketing/publicity intern and (2) our rights catalog. We were going to review these things, even though it is Tuesday - which is Firebrand meeting day (2pm until someone falls over). 10:50-ish, sat down for an interview with a publicist/marketer. I know, I will! My favorite ...

Tis the Season - AgentObvious
http://agentobvious.livejournal.com/838.html
From the brain of Nadia Cornier. Nov 21st, 2007 at 9:19 PM. There are fast-for-publishing seasons too: Generally the month or two directly following the slow season. This is definitely changing. this year, in particular, it felt like there was no real break at all - and suddenly it's Thanksgiving which means the holiday season is about to hit and I'm not sure if there is even going to be a pause. I wonder if this is because people are taking fewer vacations then they used to (more to get done? But Die Ha...

Seriously? - AgentObvious
http://agentobvious.livejournal.com/3377.html
From the brain of Nadia Cornier. Oct 28th, 2008 at 7:03 PM. My contracts professor (while trying to make a legal point) asked everyone in the class if anyone was a wanna-be-writer. Half the class raised their hands. I began to feel a little nervous, but thankfully she moved on quickly. She asked, (because we are reading the case Locke v Warner) if any of the budding novelists would pay $100 to an industry professional to get our material considered by them - no promises, just a look. I ranted in class ab...

Jul 16th, 2015. I have a new book! I am finding it very easy and informative. Lots of good primary source quotes. And just look at the alert young guy on the cover! It continues summer here, very hot. Most days have hit 90 f. We run air in the house and car. C has a summer job painting industrial murals in Manhattan. She is really enjoying it, and it is a good experience. Better than fast food or retail. Today she gets her first paycheck ever! Anyway here is my book. 3 comments Leave a comment. That man ...

A World Exclusive (remix for Sarlania) - Remixing Hornblower fanfic for fun

Remixing Hornblower fanfic for fun. A World Exclusive (remix for Sarlania). July 4th, 2011. Title: A World Exclusive. Remix of: Times of Change. Author's note: As I was going through Sarlania’s work to find a piece to remix (so much choice! I came across this wonderful piece again and got struck by one of my mad ideas. What if a tabloid journalist had handled that article? Usual disclaimers apply in re who owns the Hornblower characters (not me). You would describe yourselves as just friends at the time?

All aboard for fandom fun. On Jun.18th.2015 at 22:31. Almost a year ago now I was at a dance festival near Antwerp. There were several of us with an evening flight home the day after it finished, giving us a day free, and the others went off to see the sights of Brussels - but I had a better idea, and set off for Waterloo. The Wellington museum, formerly the inn where he spent the nights before and after the battle. I liked this picture, showing Scottish soldiers with captured eagles. The tourist office ...
