Venice Pier Surf Blog. Tuesday, January 27, 2009. My feet are still thawing out from this morning. Sun was out, but the wind/water/sand temp was pretty darn cold. Got out at about 6:30 and most people were south of the pier. I figured I would try to get a few northside. Waves were a little mushy because of the tide, but the bigger ones had enough push for a decent ride. The good news is that wave was my first to split the pier! Kind of silly, I know. Venice Pier Surf Blog. Thursday, April 30, 2009. Unfortunately not as good as yesterday. I woke up extra early today because I thought it was going to be just as fun as yesterday. But it wasn't =(. Surfing a potato chip requires more juice than what was out there. There were a few set waves that would come through, but you had to be closer to the pier to get them. Venice Pier Surf Blog. Saturday, September 19, 2009. Finally got a good day in. Today was a pretty good day to go out and surf. Weather is still awesome, water temp is good and the waves were nice. Got a few lefts and rights just south of the jetty. Lots of people out and a lot of people saying how good it was yesterday. I think it's time for me to stop being so lazy and surf during the week. Venice Pier Surf Blog. Saturday, March 28, 2009. Brought the fish out. I brought the fish out today and it took me a little bit to get used to it. There were a lot of people so I had to post up north side halfway between the jetty and the pier. I had a few fun rides and surfed for about 2 hours. I played hookie from work yesterday at around 2 pm and got a few decent rights Northside, but my best ride was when I paddled over to the south. It was pretty sick.
