הרוכב לאוטובוסים: אוגוסט 2014
http://israelbikebus.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Walkable Jerusalem: March 2014
http://jlmsnouthouse.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 11, 2014. I've put up a post on the Times of Israel. About a topic that is unrelated to this blog. It discusses the inappropriate way (at least, as I perceive it) in which the epidural is being marketed as the default option for obstetric analgesia at Jerusalem's Shaare Zedek Medical Center. The post is primarily a reaction to an article in a promotional brochure that came with one of the Friday papers, in honor of the dedication of Shaare Zedek's new "Next Generation" building. And just f...

Walkable Jerusalem: Mall and sprawl at the Israel Museum
http://jlmsnouthouse.blogspot.com/2013/10/mall-and-sprawl-at-israel-museum.html
Monday, October 14, 2013. Mall and sprawl at the Israel Museum. What I find hard to grasp is that so considerable a sum of money was spent on refurbishing the Museum without addressing its inner-sprawl problem in a more meaningful way. The issue of the Museum's location - sprawl in "macrocosm" - is theoretically. Going to be addressed by urbanization plans for the surrounding area, which I discuss briefly below. But what about the grounds of the Museum "campus" itself - sprawl in "microcosm? About how re...

Friday, March 1, 2013. Some more unasked questions about the Begin Expressway Extension. Begin South Extension (simulation: J'lm Municipality). In my last post. And were completely ignoring the extension's potential impact on all other parts of town. I'm still frustrated. Here are a few more questions that no one seems to be asking:. In what way will the extended (and widened) Begin Expressway be exempt from the phenomenon of induced demand. Say goodbye to traffic jams. In its eagerness to move as many s...

Walkable Jerusalem: Snout houses, mothers and others
http://jlmsnouthouse.blogspot.com/2014/02/the-urban-plague.html
Tuesday, February 11, 2014. Snout houses, mothers and others. A couple of weeks ago I attended a conference at the Jerusalem Municipality on sexual harassment in the public realm. I wonder what kind of turnout a more general conference on women and planning would get in Jerusalem? It's certainly a topic that has received a fair amount of attention elsewhere in the world. And mixed-use development as a factor in "gender mainstreaming". Subsequent to the conference, I threw together a primitive ( really.
