Tuesday, January 25, 2011. This is posted by request! Juice of 7 lemons (or thereabouts- enough so that it's as tart as you like it). 1 tbsp. honey. 1/4 c candied ginger. Combine the sugar, water, and honey in a pan over medium heat; cook until the sugar is dissolved. Add the lemon juice and the candied ginger. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is just bubbling. Makes about 1 quart sorbet. Sunday, January 23, 2011. Farmer's Markets in January. Monday, January 10, 2011. Inste...

Maple Bourbon Glazed Pork Chops. 2-4 chops – about 1/2 lb. each, bone-in chops are preferred. These are so amazing I’m not sure I’ll ever want to eat pork chops any other way. First, you want to brine the chops so they’ll be even more juicy and delicious. 1 cup kosher salt (if using regular salt, just reduce by half). 1 clove, whole.

4FoodTourists: Homemade Cheese

4 friends who have a tourist mentality when it comes to food decided to collaborate and have fun with sharing our adventures with food. Monday, June 7, 2010. So, a while ago I came across a kit for making cheese. Urban Chesecraft. And now they're making boat loads of money off of their cheese-making kits (okay, so they're probably not making boat loads of money, but they were able to birth a business out of it). And as such, I got suckered in to buying a kit and giving it a try. This means that even if y...

stubborn sparrow: April 2011
http://stubbornsparrow.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Projects, stories, and inspiration. I made myself a fancy bowl of oatmeal this morning. Actually, it was a pretty normal bowl of oatmeal, with the special appearance of strawberries. I was very excited about this bowl of oatmeal, until I began eating it and suddenly realized that the strawberries tasted like red lumps of nothingness. The routine- which is a key element of my life- has been kind of hard to hammer out, what with shifting schedules and long, empty stretches of free time. In the meantime, I'...

Veggie Lasagna (Gluten Free) | MeggieKate
https://meggiekate.wordpress.com/2012/09/04/veggie-lasagna-gluten-free
About Megan’s Blog. Testing The WordPress App. Veggie Lasagna (Gluten Free). I used to think that I hated eggplant. My primary experiences with it have been in the form of eggplant parmesan and the two times I have eaten this I have really wanted to like it, but the flavor and texture just didn’t do it for me. I assumed that I just didn’t like eggplant. Until I had one of the best lasagnas ever and afterwords found out it had eggplant in it. You have “lasagna noddles.”. I’ll admit though, I haven&#...
