http://mlc-to.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
Maple Leaf Test Rides. The continuing saga of test riding a Supercycle SC1800 (Canadian Tire product # 71-1556). Monday, September 25, 2006. Average speed is 19.8 kph, therefore actual time the wheels have been rolling is about 108.09 hours. The cost of this project has been about $200, therefore cost per kilometer is about 9.34 cents per kilometer. The bottom bracket is making some strange crunching noises, indicating an overhaul will be necessary immenently. Posted by Maple Leaf Cyclery @ 09:12. It was...

Maple Leaf Test Rides. The continuing saga of test riding a Supercycle SC1800 (Canadian Tire product # 71-1556). Friday, March 31, 2006. Applied oil to chain and performed minor gear adjustment. Running without a complaint now. Looking forward to aligning dropout and overhauling hubs. Posted by Maple Leaf Cyclery @ 08:31. Thursday, March 30, 2006. Kind of excited to use the dropout alignment kit. It arrives looking like this. Front brake lever makes this 'eenkh' noise when it is squeezed. Instead, test r...

Maple Leaf Test Rides. The continuing saga of test riding a Supercycle SC1800 (Canadian Tire product # 71-1556). Friday, April 28, 2006. The wee beastie is running right and without complaint. Sat in behind a tractor trailer and sustained 40kph for 3km. Quite a rush! Pulling out of the draft was left feeling a wall of wind that impeded progress. Thinking this would have been much less effort if was ridng the summer bike. Posted by Maple Leaf Cyclery @ 11:51. Thursday, April 27, 2006. Another oppurtunity ...

Maple Leaf Test Rides. The continuing saga of test riding a Supercycle SC1800 (Canadian Tire product # 71-1556). Saturday, July 29, 2006. Yesterday was an oppurtunity to test ride three bikes. The first was a 2005 Supercycle SC1800, to hop back and forth to the commuter train. It was nice to be able to leave it abandoned all day and still have it there upon return. As may have been stated here before, it rides like a lazy tapir, yet it serves it's function. Posted by Maple Leaf Cyclery @ 08:37. Has proba...

Maple Leaf Test Rides. The continuing saga of test riding a Supercycle SC1800 (Canadian Tire product # 71-1556). Wednesday, May 31, 2006. Mileage is up, as left the Breezer at work whilst test riding a 1987 Fuji Ace. Also, to refresh: drivetrain is toast, brake shoes are worn. There is always something with the SC1800. Posted by Maple Leaf Cyclery @ 10:56. Tuesday, May 30, 2006. The Breezer is such a blast to hop aboard. Kinda nice to keep it low with all the accelerating at controlled intersections.

Maple Leaf Test Rides. The continuing saga of test riding a Supercycle SC1800 (Canadian Tire product # 71-1556). Friday, June 30, 2006. More on the 19 k commute. The 700x25 tyres are proving quite efficient. Compared to the 26x1.75 slicks, it rolls well. Compared to the 26x 2 knobbies on the SC1800, it makes the ride a superb pleasure! Posted by Maple Leaf Cyclery @ 09:49. Thursday, June 22, 2006. Good news is that the DB2L cycle computer performs well in freezing temperatures. Thursday, June 15, 2006.

Maple Leaf Test Rides. The continuing saga of test riding a Supercycle SC1800 (Canadian Tire product # 71-1556). Tuesday, January 31, 2006. SC1800 gets a day off. The odometer was stalled today as we rode the red bike. It was a test ride to make sure all the rattles are out. Good news is the red bike is running OK. Bad news is I don't get to ride my favourite blue bike. Posted by Maple Leaf Cyclery @ 13:08. Monday, January 30, 2006. Posted by Maple Leaf Cyclery @ 09:21. Sunday, January 29, 2006. Wow weig...

Maple Leaf Test Rides. The continuing saga of test riding a Supercycle SC1800 (Canadian Tire product # 71-1556). Tuesday, February 28, 2006. Surprised there are no comments observing this is perhaps the dullest blog on the net.and yet still we write. The bottom bracket lockring has come out of adjustment, producing some play. Must have happened since the last 101 km, as this was when the latest adjustment was given to that part. Ach, time to double check torque. Posted by Maple Leaf Cyclery @ 09:47.
