Up a Tree Cup a Tea: Playing catch up.

http://upatreecupateaco.blogspot.com/2014/08/playing-catch-up.html

Friday, August 8, 2014. In early July I spent a week with my Mom, sister, and littlest brother in my hometown of Pensacola, FL. It was an awesome, relaxing trip! I took a break from my summer job working at Freedom School. Which started just 2 days after school got out, and headed south to the Gulf. I went paddle boarding for the first time with my sister in the bayou and it was awesome! I have a Lifeproof. Case (thank the lord) or none of the photos would have been possible! When I was growing up going ...

Up a Tree Cup a Tea: 1 year.

http://upatreecupateaco.blogspot.com/2014/05/1-year.html

Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Our very first wedding anniversary was on Sunday. We celebrated on Saturday, because I had a market on Sunday. My husband cooked a delicious meal - and I finally admitted that he's a better cook than I am. I'm still better at making pies and quiches though.I still have that! I'm so thankful for him each and everyday - he keeps me grounded, sane, and smiling. I can't wait to see all the adventures we have together. 1 happy year down, many more to go!

Up a Tree Cup a Tea: ed tech talk

http://upatreecupateaco.blogspot.com/2014/05/ed-tech-talk.html

Tuesday, May 20, 2014. We have just 3 weeks left of school and lately I've been thinking a lot about how much I've learned since I started teaching almost 2 years ago. Being a teacher is in many ways what I expected, but it's also come with a lot of surprises. In college I learned how to write effective lesson plans and mostly the "paperwork" side of education. Through Teach For America. During this school year through a Donors Choose. Teachers in small districts with little funding (like mine! Complain ...

Up a Tree Cup a Tea: I am not a savior.

http://upatreecupateaco.blogspot.com/2014/06/i-am-not-savior.html

Sunday, June 8, 2014. I am not a savior. This past week I spent 5 days in Knoxville, Tennessee at the Children's Defense Fund Freedom Schools National Training. It was an amazing, exhausting, and eye-opening experience. One that I know I'll never forget! And sitting in trainings about how to manage a classroom and teach reading. But I made a resolution to absorb as much as possible - I'm not "too good" to learn even more. So I sat back, contributed, and ended up learning so much. We conversed via Twitter!

Up A Tree | Building the Ultimate Treehouse

Building the Ultimate Treehouse. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. September 21, 2011. We’ve finished the walls and windows. Now it’s time for the ‘woof’. This structure presents the same challenges as the floors: it’s got to grow with the tree. However, unlike the floors, which I was able to stand on to build, I needed to make the roof a light-weight structure, which I could erect from below , because it is so high off the ground. My solution was simple in concept. Well, after a couple...
