ICA&D
http://ecad.knmi.nl/icad.php
The ICA&D (International Climate Assessment and Dataset) climate services concept successfully combines the work of WMO`s Expert Team on Climate Change Detection and Indices ( ETCCDI. And WMO`s Data Rescue ( DARE. The European Climate Assessment and Dataset (ECA&D, www.ecad.eu. The Southeast Asian Climate Assessment and Dataset (SACA&D, sacad.database.bmkg.go.id. Is a result of the DiDaH. The ICA&D system is currently being set-up in Latin America as the Climate Assessment and Dataset (LACA&D, lacad....

Return values
http://ecad.knmi.nl/returnvalues/index.php
34;Extreme value theory" complements the "Indices of extremes" in order to evaluate the intensity and frequency of more rare events. Calculated are the return values for events that occur once in 2, 5, 10 and 20 years. To learn more about extreme value analysis, see Project info WMO-guide. The menu below allows you to view maps of return values over Europe for several extremes of temperature, precipitation, etc. Every item of the menu offers the option to download the results.

Frequently Asked Questions

The answers given below to the Frequently Asked Questions are intended to be brief rather than comprehensive. For more details, see the documentation provided under Project info. Why the ECA&D project? What basic data, series and stations are used? What is the difference between downloadable and non-downloadable data? Why more than one definition for min., mean and max. temperature, etc? What is the difference between blend and non-blend? Why doesn't ECA use the WMO station numbers as id's? What is the d...

Indices of extremes
http://www.ecad.eu/indicesextremes/index.php
For every ECA&D station, a total of 72 indices have been calculated. Indices data are freely available for non-commercial research and education: see our data policy. For more details. Each index describes a particular characteristic of climate change (both changes in the mean and the extremes). A core set of 26 indices follows the definitions recommended by the CCl/CLIVAR/JCOMM Expert Team on Climate Change Detection and Indices ( ETCCDI. All available blended series. All available blended series.

The ECA dataset contains 43049 series of observations for 12 elements at 10571 meteorological stations throughout Europe and the Mediterranean. ECA series are available. Blended. Series are series that are near-complete by infilling from nearby stations. They are also updated using synoptical messages. Only these blended. Series are further analysed in ECA&D and used for gridding. Details of the blend and update proces are given in the specific FAQ. Or in Project info ATBD. Series. The blended.

Elements
http://www.ecad.eu/dailydata/datadictionaryelement.php
Different countries estimate daily average temperatures using different methods and formulae. Also, the time intervals for observing minimum and maximum temperature differ and the time interval for accumulating 24h rainfall differ. The table below describes the different "Ele ID" values available for each element in the database. These recording characteristics are included when downloading the daily data. Maximum temperature unknown interval. Maximum temperature 18-18 UT. Maximum temperature 0-0 UT.

Daily data
http://ecad.knmi.nl/dailydata/index.php
The ECA dataset contains series of daily observations at meteorological stations throughout Europe and the Mediterranean. Part of the dataset is freely available for non-commercial research and education: see our data policy. For more details. To download this part of the data select one of the options below. The non-downloadable series may be available from the data provider directly, as well as additional data. Please direct your inquiries to obtain these data to the ECA&D Project Team.
