Building a family home on the prairies. Friday, 29 April 2016. Weekly Column: Save the Environment, Save Money, too! Then why not make the same effort to trim your budget? Have you considered how much money you spend on things that you use once and throw away? Is there an alternative to this wasteful practice? For instance, have you got worn out t-shirts or towels that can be made into rags and reused rather than buying disposable wipes? To take advantage of the heat. Get in the Habit. Because we don't e...

SouthEast of 33: February 2016
http://southeastof33.blogspot.com/2016_02_01_archive.html
Building a family home on the prairies. Monday, 29 February 2016. Financial Goals for March. For all my talk of budgeting and knowing where your money goes, I sat and reviewed our numbers last night and was shocked. That our "bare bones" budget (the amount of money we need every month to keep food in bellies and lights on overhead- the essentials only. Was frankly much higher than I thought it would be. That is, at first glance, I saw no way. What I realize I must change:. What I am not changing.yet:.

Today, I need strength. – Real Life
https://crazymommamel.wordpress.com/2015/12/11/today-i-need-strength
The stuff and things that make my life…real. Today, I need strength. There has been a lot of offhanded comments made to special needs parents by others. Most of this conversation has focused on comments such as You are so strong or I could never do what you do. Also, I don’t just think I’m strong I know I’m strong. But please don’t interpret this to mean I’ve always felt strong. I believe strength entered the equation when I wiped my eyes, called my friends back days later and continued to hold my son...

https://crazymommamel.wordpress.com/2014/01/08/the-first-blog-so-what-am-i-supposed-to-do-now/comment-page-1
The stuff and things that make my life…real. The first blog….so what am I supposed to do now? Well I have gone and done it now! I got ambitious and have started a blog. I took my time…made the front look all pretty, did a front page of my intentions and aspirations of why I have made my decision and NOW I am ready to type up a new post. My first blog…. Do you want to know what my real problem is? Should I talk about my ridiculous relationship failures that brought me to my soul mate? Most importantly, yo...

Light in Eight Blue Eyes: August 2015
http://lightineightblueeyes.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 21, 2015. Friday's Make and Learn. So I tried something. And I think it turned out pretty darn cute. I have no idea what it's suppose to be - a hedgehog mouse? I don't care much - with a pincushion this precious I think I'll be super inspired to sew this fall. Also - to my greatest delight - I have become acquainted with Charlotte Mason and her awe inspiring wisdom. Our home school flow this year has been going so. Their completed art - Trin added some purple glitter to hers. After the bef...

Tuesday, June 16, 2015. I'm grateful this morning for my littles and their willingness to learn .even during the summer. I'm thankful for books and laptops and colorful paper and pencils. http://southeastof33.blogspot.com/2017/01/weekly-column-enjoy-christmas-potluck.html
Building a family home on the prairies. Monday, 2 January 2017. Weekly Column: Enjoy a Christmas Potluck. I am so over Christmas that I actually hate to post yet another Christmas-related column. However, thinking of the cost of food is something that we should be doing year round. I hope 2017 is off to a great start! Enjoy a Christmas potluck. Ah, the season of over-indulgence! Perhaps you can still host or attend these events but, by adjusting your expectations, make them more affordable for all involv...

You're always with yourself, so you might as well enjoy the company.". Philippians 4:8 The Message. Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Graceand Happy Earth Day! Funny how different our days can be. For mothers. Funny how different our minutes. It's pretty easy to feel conflicted. Am I a good mom? Am I a playful mom or a lazy mom?

All of our sons have high functioning autism. I'm not sad that they are mine. I do not feel that they "lack" in any way. I love all of my boys more then words or songs or poems or anything could ever say. Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Four Costumed Munchkins and One Happy Seven Year Old. The last few days have brought us.

Light in Eight Blue Eyes: January 2015
http://lightineightblueeyes.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 28, 2015. Squirrel helping koala prepare for daddy's upcoming birthday. Clementine and Azul catching some rays (is it nice of me to let them have some sunshine and fresh air or am I torturing them by letting them have a whiff of freedom? Freshly laundered summer clothes (I'm preparing - only about 3 months to go). A sunny day and a light breeze, a "new" coffee table just awaiting good weather so he can be stripped and stained (sounds painful). Friday, January 16, 2015. I've cut out all...
