Now, the user can manipulate both background AND text color,. As well as font size. (I had briefly made the font, itself, configurable,. But had difficulty manipulating both font AND font size, and decided. That font size was more important. Default fonts are, in general readable). All the color and size manipulation may be considered fluff to some, but,. For an old guy like me, it's nice to not have to stare at 10pica black. Text against a blaring white background. I also embedded an xterm. I'm not sure...

Maybe you guys can help me with something. I wrote this to play tunes in mplayer, I just cd to the directory and type "tocar" (which I named the script, in /usr/local/bin, meaning "to play in spanish and portuguese). Find -type f -exec mplayer {} ;. But, I'd like to be able to shuffle and loop. Now, so long as I have a list to feed mplayer, I should be able to do:. Mplayer $pl -shuffle -loop 0. To my knowledge, to get it to shuffle and loop the list. In fact, I know it works, because I used precisely.

I wrote my own text editor. It's light, fast, and groOvy. You can edit a wide variety of text files or scripts, including .txt, .py, .tcl, html, etc., of course, like any other text editor. I wrote this entire page. TickleText will run in Windows and Mac, but who cares? Some of it's functions only work in Linux, such as,. TickleText will call xterm, and will print via lpr. If your eyes get tired of staring at a white background wil working on your files, TickleText has a nice feature:. Post a new comment.

Just joined some linux communities as I'm on the long road to switching to Linux from Windows. I've been switching over to general FOSS for sometime though. Just thought I'd offer a blog entry since this is meant to be a place to blog about all things Linux :). LinuxLog - Thoughts on Linux. I'm keeping a log of my progress with Linux here: linuxlog. Best Desktop Environment for a laptop?: linuxlive
http://linuxlive.livejournal.com/5972.html
Best Desktop Environment for a laptop? I'd like your opinions on which would be the best DE for a laptop? Preferably something that really utilizes battery power (i.e. doesn't drain it). I've used Ubuntu with GNOME and it withstood quite all right. I've also used Xfce also fared well. Also, if anyone could say anything about DSL and Puppy Linux, it would be great. Oh and Hi, I've just joined the community. Post a new comment. We will log you in after post. We will log you in after post. Post a new comment.

remastering woes: linuxlive
http://linuxlive.livejournal.com/5845.html
I'm making an industry specific livecd. Remastering from a system, based on PCFluxboxOS. I've burned about a dozen frisbees now. I'm simply using the mkremaster script that comes with PCLinuxOS,. And have had success before, but this is what's happening now. I have re-remastered numerous times, and the iso seems to come out consistently,. Everytime, at 439.1mb, so I don't think. It is the remastering process itself that. But, when I burn the resultant iso to disc I get mixed results. It's driving me nuts!

I fixed a few things in. Nono eyecandy this time, since the changes were all internal, really). It was always doing a "save as" before, because I had not correctly. Been globally setting the filename upon saving or opening a file. Now that's fixed. It won't ask you for a file name for a project. You've opened or already saved, unless, of course, you choose save as. Now, TickleText will ask you if you want to save your work before quitting,. If you have modified the text since your last save.
