Sunday, April 20, 2014. Aoi Festival will be held on 15th May. This is one of three major festival in Kyoto. About 500 people wearing cloths in the Heian period make a pageant and walk . They will start to walk at Kyoto Imperial Palace and go to Kamigamo shrine via Shimogamo shrine. Kyoto Imperial Palace(10:30)→Shimogamo shrine(11:40)→ Kamigamo shrine(15:30). There are many ceremonies before the festival. The most famous ceremony is Yabusameshinji. Yabusame is a traditional martial art .
