Eagles South of the Border

Eagles South of the Border. Saturday, July 19, 2008. Welcome to the Jungle. After Chichen Itza, we went to the gulf side for a night in Campeche then on to Palenque for some of the most impressive ruins we saw. For the structures themselves, but also for the surroundings. The rolling hills of the highland jungles were breathtaking. The carvings on some of the buildings were quite impressive and meaningful. Still don't know what the T was for tho. Ahhh, the day in the jungle made the next day all the swee...

Eagles South of the Border: Tikal

http://thetravelingeagles.blogspot.com/2008/06/tikal.html

Eagles South of the Border. Sunday, June 1, 2008. This was our first ruins experience and it kind of spoiled us. We wondered around here for a day and a half and found it really fun to finally sleep in the jungle. There are some crazy noises in the jungle. This was our first time hearing Howler monkeys! They sound like they are about to attack like a lion. They are crazy little buggers! Temple IV, remember the location of the rebel base from Star Wars? And we were trying to wake up! Photos from Guatemala...

Eagles South of the Border. Friday, March 28, 2008. Acapulco to Puerto Escondido. Still trying hard to catch up on getting some pictures posted. These go back to some time in Acapulco where we toured Fuerte San Diego, a fort with great views of the entire bay, stopped into a mask museum with masks from around the world and saw the infamous cliff divers just after sunset. A self-guided tour through the city took us the long but defintely the most scenic way around. This spot was just down the block from w...

Eagles South of the Border. Tuesday, April 22, 2008. On the Road Again. We´ll take plenty of pictures of our own along the way. Thursday, April 17, 2008. Putting the Van to the test. Here is the view of the lake and our caravan from the fifth floor of their house. The Godfather" insisted on taking us for a backroads ride in his jeep that started it all. He took us to his avocado farm on top of the hill overlooking the entire village. And here is a shot of the entire Familia. Friday, April 11, 2008. Meeti...

Monday, April 8, 2013. Palm Springs - Weekend 2. While I was at the OneSight clinic, Shane had a full week of work in Carlsbad so we took the kids over to Palm Springs to stay with my parents. While we were there we got to spend some time with Holden’s BFF, Drake! He and his parents were in Palm Springs visiting family, so the boys got to play two day’s in a row. It was like they had never been apart and actually made me cry when they hugged again for the first time. Posted by Becky K. Http:/ stories&#46...

BECKY'S BLOGGIN': Spring Recap

http://shaneandbecky.blogspot.com/2013/06/spring-recap.html

Wednesday, June 26, 2013. I think we spent most of our spring outside this year. Unlike Idaho, or the Northwest, spring is actually sunny and warm down here in SoCal. Shocking, I know! We had lots of park play dates (yes, the kids now have friends! More Popsicles than I can count, a bunch of fun birthday parties and a few day’s watching Shane at the dirt bike track. The highlight for me was packing up Halle and heading home to Walla Walla for a long weekend, to celebrate the life of Grandma Janet Buchanan.

Tuesday, October 30, 2012. This past week Shane and I celebrated our 8. It’s amazing to me that we have been married that long. It’s been such a breeze! Sure, we have our ups and downs. But as a whole, these past eight years have been the best of my life. To celebrate, Shane’s brother came to watch the kids, and we had a night out! We went to a swanky Mexican restaurant called Javier’s ( www.javiers-cantina.com. Fantastic people watching, great drinks and yummy food. Posted by Becky K. Posted by Becky K.

Tuesday, June 19, 2007. We followed the Paul Bunyan Trail for the first part of our last day. Of course we needed to stop to visit Paul a bit. Finally the day arrived and we reached Lake Itasca State Park. Pat and I rode the last few miles to the headwaters of the Mississippi. I needed to cross the river one more time. This time in bare feet walking on the rocks. Most important we have taken away wonderful memories that we will treasure forever. Posted by Traveling Duo @ 3:39 PM. Friday, June 15, 2007.

The Musings of Matt. Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound.
