The Primitive Paper

A tiny journal containing thoughts about Orthodox Christianity, recipes, handmade projects and whatever else comes along the way. Tuesday, January 4, 2011. New year, Old traditions. I hope and trust that everyone had a magical and wonderful holiday season. I myself was delighted by all the feasting and company that took place over the holidays. This was my first Southern Christmas, and well, it was delightful. Partly because of sweet Susan Cushman. Let me introduce to you Orange Rolls. My Grandmother...

The Primitive Paper: July 2010

http://www.theprimitivepaper.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

A tiny journal containing thoughts about Orthodox Christianity, recipes, handmade projects and whatever else comes along the way. Thursday, July 29, 2010. Do what you have to not what you want to. darn it. The other day I realized that if I want to have basic things to live. I need to go to the grocery store every now and then. Not just like once every 3 weeks. This is sad, you would think that a grown woman would know this, right? I was raised in central Indiana where women are trained to do this house ...

The Primitive Paper: It is almost here!

http://www.theprimitivepaper.blogspot.com/2010/12/it-is-almost-here.html

A tiny journal containing thoughts about Orthodox Christianity, recipes, handmade projects and whatever else comes along the way. Monday, December 13, 2010. It is almost here! I have had to do a few things around my house lately as I prepare for the colder weather. I put up plastic weather insulator on my windows. Let me tell you how much that is not a job for ladies! Let me tell you. it was hard. We, my sweet roommate and I, don't know how to program the darn thing! Then, I carried the beauty inside and...

A tiny journal containing thoughts about Orthodox Christianity, recipes, handmade projects and whatever else comes along the way. Tuesday, May 11, 2010. Some of you may know that I really enjoy a good craft project. I like getting my hands busy and create something new. If any of you like to do the same the I highly suggest this book,. Is my new favorite! I created this a few weeks ago, and it perfect for taking to my favorite grocery, whole foods, as well as just a few essentials needed on a bike ride.

A tiny journal containing thoughts about Orthodox Christianity, recipes, handmade projects and whatever else comes along the way. Sunday, December 19, 2010. The other evening, after a very long productive day at work, I deiced to make peanut brittle. The recipe seemed very simple. Cook lots of sugar add peanuts and turn onto a buttered cookie sheet. Apparently peanut brittle has a secret and I am not in the club. Monday, December 13, 2010. It is almost here! Let me tell you. it was hard. Well that is a p...

Tuesday, August 17, 2010. 20- lived in my first apartment with friends- Beauregard anyone? 21- graduated from Mississippi College, armed with a BA and a set of irreplaceable friends and memories. 22- got my first real "i'm on salary" job- Recruiter at MC (then i thought salary was a good thing! 23- had an incredibly fun year of friends/roommates, work and just being out on my own- even a budget seemed fun back then. 25- moved back to Memphis, met this cute guy named Billy and got engaged.

The Labonte Family...: 1st Snow Day

http://billyandmarjo.blogspot.com/2011/01/1st-snow-day.html

Monday, January 24, 2011. Posting these a bit late, but too cute not to get them up! I love the snow. Every time it has snowed since we got married Billy has said he can't wait for us to have a kid so I will have someone to play with when it snows! He was probably just glad for a break from getting pelted with snowballs by his 6 yr old. Hope to join them next year. Meanwhile, enjoying winter hibernation with our snuggly cub, and yes, in true Memphis winter style, those are socks on Joseph's hands.

Monday, May 31, 2010. The Nursery.in Progress. For those of you who have asked, here are some pics of the nursery in progress. We left the antique dresser and will convert it to a changing table. Still waiting to get that changing cover. We also have my great grandmother's rocking chair- just have to recover the seat. Material is there, just need to stretch and staple! Love my little baskets with all Joseph's cute things in them, and the cotton curtains that let plenty of light in- very happy and cozy.

The Labonte Family...: Couldn't Resist

http://billyandmarjo.blogspot.com/2011/01/couldnt-resist.html

Monday, January 24, 2011. After Bath Time, Joseph just spends a little time airing out and chillin in his crib with his friends, er, toys. Lion can't read yet, so Jos fills him on what's up with the pokey dots and stripes. Oh, hey, Mom! I didn't know you were in here! These are pics that I'm sure he'll hate later! I am just absolutely in love with his smile and big blue eyes! Motherhood is definitely the best. thing. ever. We should get our little families together sometime to visit:). I will check it out.

Wednesday, November 24, 2010. But, really, is it possible to mess up lots of ooey-gooey cheese, milk and noodles? One way or another it will taste good, even if it doesn't look worthy of the part of Thanksgiving staple! Here's hoping it measures up on both accounts.
