Chamber Singers: June 2006
http://chambersingers.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 29, 2006. Welcome, welcome cross of Christ! Hey you all,. I just finished lawn mowing, weed eating, and sling blading tall weeds in our backyard-water-draining-canal [actually our back yard is a water-draining-canal]. With so much rain over the past several days [four to five inches], we could have hosted the BBC fall boat building and sailing competition along the Harris' river. Our bird feeder has been empty this summer. Of what value is a bird feeder without bird seed? There are 365 of ...

Wednesday, May 31, 2006. However, our time to get back home is so tight. . . we lost too much time today. So, we got tickets for me to fly home from El Paso, Texas tomorrow(Thursday). This way I will be able to pick up my nephews from the airport on Saturday. My parents hope to get home on Saturday night unless they have more trouble. Currently I am in our hotel room in El Paso, enjoying the wireless internet service. My poor dad is exhaused! Thank you for your prayers! Please keep praying for us! Don't ...

Saturday, December 30, 2006. Christ: Living Water for the Thirsty Soul. What is Living Water? The question proposed is quite broad yet very crucial. Understanding 'Living Water' is most contingent for our life-sustaining and eternal joy in God through Jesus Christ! Since it is so broad, perhaps we can understand it through the lens of biblical theology. I am the all-sustaining, all-surpassing, all-satisfying Fountain- the Living Water of your thristy souls! Not only does John seek to propose Christ to be...

Saturday, November 18, 2006. The Mortification of Sin. I am encouraged that you all are reading and musing over John Owen's. The Mortification of Sin. When I was in the circle (as opposed to just the virtual circle), one of the dominant notes in the vision of chambers singers that Doc had set in place was an emphasis on holiness and a living to God in sanctificaiton. I love that vision! For me, when I read. The Mortification of Sin. To find a book like. The Mortification of Sin. It has taught me how drea...

Tuesday, April 24, 2007. Even the dogs are becoming Lutheran". Hey you all,. I've just devoured 2 delightfully delicious pieces of Connie's fresh-baked chocolate chip banana bread. How much more delightful the delectably fresh-baked new covenant manna served at the marriage supper of the Lamb. Hmm, when on the eschatological calendar should we expect that meal be served? Have you checked out Red Mountain Music? Http:/ www.redmountainchurch.org/rmm/. It's all very theological/folky/earthy/home grown.

Chamber Singers: January 2007
http://chambersingers.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 24, 2007. I was sent this link from a friend. I thought it was a joke, but people actually believe this. To take God's ability to save us away from Him and place it on our shoulders not only flies in the face of scripture, but is completely centered on our ability to manipulate God. I don't think so Pensacola. Plus, the singing is atrocious. Enjoy. Posted by Josh Huff at 10:59 AM. Friday, January 12, 2007. Posted by David at 1:13 PM. Matt and Alicia DeWever. Monday, October 30, 2006. In just one day the anniversary of the Reformation will be upon us. For those of you unfamiliar with this time in history, here's a brief lesson. PS The photo is of the Wall of Reformers in Geneva, Switzerland (quite a sight if you've ever been there). The men carved into the stone are Guillaume Farel, Jean Calvin, Theodore Beza, and John Knox, some of the the fathers of the Protestant Reformation. Posted by Josh Huff at 11:32 AM.
