The Indian Odyssey

A chronicle of the adventures of four young Canadians in India. Thursday, August 03, 2006. Book 16 - The End. My last two days in Bangkok with Davey, Amar, and Benny were a frenzy of emotion. We shared stories, laughed, and created new memories. We saw beautiful temples, crowded city streets, bustling Isreali restaurants, and throbbing Thai clubs. We ate Pad Thai, Falafel, and imbibed each others presence. They were some of the finest days I can recall. Posted by Derek at 8:39 AM. Tuesday, July 25, 2006.

A chronicle of the adventures of four young Canadians in India. Monday, July 10, 2006. Book 12 - Mcleod 9. An elaboration on my time in the Himalayas. To date we have spent more than a week in Mcleod Ganj. We have done the following:. Watched world cup games and bootlegged movies on mini basement theatres. Attended the Dalai Lamas birthday - yes, we were invited. Consumed enough food in the form of cakes, pies, and coissants to make up for previous sicknesses. Consumed more cakes, pies, and goodies.

A chronicle of the adventures of four young Canadians in India. Saturday, June 24, 2006. Book 8 - Mumbai (Bombay). Today was spent wandering around the town and getting jimmied into 37 hours of internet for a whopping 300 rupees! Tomorrow will be another day of very touristy activities. The following day we board an overnight train to Jaipur. Hopefully this train ride will be less eventful than the last. Posted by Derek at 5:06 AM. To revelation, inspiration, and adventure. The Indian Odyssey: Book 9 - Goodbai Mumbai

http://www.theindianodyssey.blogspot.com/2006/06/book-9-goodbai-mumbai.html

A chronicle of the adventures of four young Canadians in India. Friday, June 30, 2006. Book 9 - Goodbai Mumbai. Our last day in Mumbai before leaving for Jaipur involved completing a number of touristy goals: see the Gateway to India, haji ali's mosque, the mahalakshmi temple, mani bhavan (Ghandiji's home) and perhaps check out the Chor bazaar and Kamathipura (The Red-Light District). Wave crashes, run back a few paces. Stop! Pray to Alah for safety, run, Stop! After talking with a Dutch social worker, w...

A chronicle of the adventures of four young Canadians in India. Tuesday, July 25, 2006. Book 15 - Koh Phan Gan. I have noticed that Blogger.com has been plagued by some spam - I hope that my blog will remain online. I've realized that my blog title is no longer completely relevant. Perhaps simply "The Odyssey" would be better? I think that would be very original. Posted by Derek at 5:18 AM. Monday, July 17, 2006. Book 14 - Thailand. Posted by Derek at 5:54 AM. A journal of Sarah's time in Europe (2006/2007). Jueves, enero 04, 2007. First Stop of 2007: Madrid. Life is never dull with Dixon and Howorun in my life. While our Barcelona new years wasn't quite as crazy as anticipated, the trip to Madrid this past Monday was fabulous! I really like the B&W setting on my camera, so to start here are some typical shots of the city. Also, this city is in full Christmas shopping swing (which they will celebrate this Saturday) and thus the streets were almost impossible t...

Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore. Andre Gide. Monday, June 19, 2006. I know that I am beginning to sound like a broken record, but this place is perfectly georgeous. How much more can India's beauty continue. We finally arrivied to Goa, and thankfully in decent health. In our exploring we stumbled upon a small private beach, which we ingeniously nicknamed "secret beach". This small beach was magnificient in its simplicity, it was small - just for us&...

Saturday, 25 March 2017. TRIPLE TALAQ A TRAVESTY OF SOCIAL JUSTICE IN A SECULAR STATE. It Is A Blasphemous Interpretation Of The Holy Quran. It is a popular fallacy that the Quranic injunctions authorize a Muslim male an arbitrary, unbridled authority to liquidate his marriage unilaterally in a single sitting. This practice of instant divorce derives legal sanctions from the Muslim clergy, who ironically, though, term it a great sin, validate it constitutionally. The abominable practice of Triple Talaq i...
