Doris's Diary: December 2011
http://dorissdiary.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, 31 December 2011. Too much Blue Cheese. A short grey day. I am staying curled up. Yesterday I ate too much blue cheese. Thursday, 29 December 2011. I've had a special Christmas. Tucked up with my best friend. Not been out much;. Snow is on the way. Today I saw the fishing boat pull into the harbour. It ran from the wind with all its lights blazing. It was exciting and reassuring. It brought fish and a sense of peace. Monday, 26 December 2011. All I got for Christmas was a power cut. Till I step...

City Mouse/Country Mouse: August 2014
http://city-mouse-country-mouse.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Monday, 25 August 2014. A Tale of Two Balconies. This is the balcony at my city apartment. Unlike the deck at my country place, it is very small, up high, and looks out over a city street with cars and buildings and people walking by. I enjoy sitting in the sun on both balconies and appreciate their similarities and differences. I like to think that there are lovely simple pleasures like this no matter where we live! Wednesday, 13 August 2014. A Tuscan-like Setting for a Wonderful Meal.

Doris's Diary: March 2012
http://dorissdiary.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Friday, 30 March 2012. Out of the Greeness. The night brought a cloud of light. Amongst the blackness and stars. It was green and danced in circles and. Then stopped, disappeared into darkness. And then came back with ever more clarity,. Twisting and spiralling, opening up like curtains. My friend and I watched in silence. The sky is our friend. And no words are needed. Tuesday, 13 March 2012. Until all the ducks have gone by. I sit and watch the morning sun. Rise in the sky and across the moor.

Doris's Diary: A Sporting Summer
http://dorissdiary.blogspot.com/2012/09/a-sporting-summer.html
Sunday, 9 September 2012. The sport is almost over. And its been better than good. Superlatives are long worn out. And we can only sit and stare. The energy and power. The motives and determination. Are beyond the knowing. Today we saw a legend. And he came through again. And we all clapped. Says it all succinctly. It was a fabulous time, loved it all. A time for watching lots of telly and not having to make excuses. :). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). It hurts when I think so I try not to.

City Mouse/Country Mouse: January 2015
http://city-mouse-country-mouse.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 20 January 2015. Coping With the Cold. It has been so cold for most of January, that I have sought things to cheer myself up and make this cold and dark month more endurable. One day, when I was walking through the Byward Market in Ottawa, I saw this cute little snowman that someone had built in a courtyard. He was so cheerful, he brightened my day. Another way I overcome the dreary cold is by buying myself a bright bouquet of flowers. Love the yellows and reds. Ahhh! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Doris's Diary: April 2012
http://dorissdiary.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Monday, 30 April 2012. The promise of something new hangs in the air. Will I grasp it? I think I might. But what will become of the past. Can I take it with me or. Would that be wrong. Its happy time waiting. My friend waits with me. Tuesday, 24 April 2012. The warmth of the day filled my head,. Leaving no room for usual thoughts. Anger and frustration sat on the sideline. Watching. And waiting. But the sun kept shining and all through the day. The birds filled in the gaps with their songs. Watermark tem...

Scaredy Horse | The Edge of Nowhere
https://theedgeofnowhere.wordpress.com/2011/07/08/scaredy-horse
The Edge of Nowhere. The man, the pigs, the blog, the island. It just doesn’t feel right →. July 8, 2011. Krummi the pony is one of nature’s nice guys and an occasional visitor to the pig farm where he gets on like a house on fire with Teddy and Merlin. But poor old Krummi has, up to now, had a terrible problem. . . at least, it’s a problem if you visit a pig farm. He was scared of pigs. However, they are a very cheerful, friendly bunch and Krummi soon wandered over to the fence to investigate or –...

Doris's Diary: July 2012
http://dorissdiary.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Friday, 13 July 2012. He came from Hungary. Or so they said. I wonder how long it took. He seems to like island life. But not so much his neighbours. He snaps and shrieks,. Attacks at will,. Chasing even gulls away. And then he sits and looks around. Puffing his pink chest out proudly. Blackbirds peer around the gatepost. Wary, wanting to share the guarded feast. But there is no quarter given. This foreigner wants to keep it all. He doesn't eat -. I hope he'll stay but. I know he won't.

City Mouse/Country Mouse: A Bit of Fun Saying Goodbye to February 2015
http://city-mouse-country-mouse.blogspot.com/2015/02/a-bit-of-fun-saying-goodbye-to-february.html
Thursday, 26 February 2015. A Bit of Fun Saying Goodbye to February 2015. My co-worker Heather and I drew nasty old man February on a couple of big pieces of paper and hung it on a wall in the hallway where lots of people could see it. Then other people wrote their comments to say goodbye. This is my colleague Aakelah giving her thoughts on what a yucky month it was. So - Goodbye February 2015, and good riddance. Hope we never see such a horrible month like this, ever again! 1 March 2015 at 18:20.
