Tales of a 4th Grade Something. Sunday, February 3, 2013. I wrote this post in early January, but didn't publish it for some reason. Now that Baby Elise is here, I'll share how I was feeling a couple of days before her birth.*. Another thought that always gets my tears going is wondering whether or not the new baby will look like Tessa. Half of me wants her to look just like her big sister so I can stop wondering what Tessa would look like at every milestone. The other half of me, as I said befor...

Tales of a 4th Grade Something. Sunday, March 3, 2013. I've been meaning to write down the details of Elise's birth for a while now. We have told the story so many times and each time it gets my heart racing. While this all happened nearly two months ago, the details, the fear, the joy, and the pain are all still right there in my mind. I got in the shower around 4:20 and immediately started up with contractions again. I would yell out, "START! We had skipped the 5-7 minute apart thingy! And that we shou...

Tales of a 4th Grade Something. Two Types of Recovery. Sunday, March 11, 2012. Two Types of Recovery. After Tessa's loss, I found myself dealing with two totally different types of healing: emotional and physical. I often thought, "Isn't it enough to have to deal with the death of your baby? Recovering from delivery was painful, but then having to deal with things like pumping made it just that much harder. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Reaching The 10 Percent. Have I got a story for you!

Tales of a 4th Grade Something. Challenges of this pregnancy. Saturday, August 18, 2012. Challenges of this pregnancy. As you probably have heard, Mike and I are expecting a new baby in January. We feel so incredibly blessed to be pregnant again, but in many ways, pregnancy has changed for me. Another challenge: As I filled out paperwork at the doctor's office before our first ultrasound, I had to answer questions like, "How many pregnancies have you had including this one? Looking forward, the thing I'm...

Tales of a 4th Grade Something. Tuesday, January 24, 2012. The picture was of a little bunny. We looked at one another and smiled, our excitement and nerves overflowing. We had talked about names for boys and girls, but we knew if we had a girl we wanted her middle name to be Bunny (after Mike's grandmother Bernice, who was always called Bunny). The picture on the wall was a little sign. :). I'd like to introduce you to Tessa Bunny Walton. Born Friday, August 19, 2011 at 9:13 AM. 6 pounds, 7 ounces.

Tales of a 4th Grade Something. Tessas birth August 19, 2011. Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Claire, Kelle, and Annie led us in some writing exercises during our workshop time. This time was so valuable to me, as I'm not an experienced writer. I was actually shocked at some of the writing that flowed from my pen onto the pages in my notebook:. The only reason I have time to write this LONG post is because I'm home sick.). Here's one of the short pieces of writing I did this weekend . . . You watch over us.
