Day tough were the extreme inclines and declines throughout the trek. We had to traverse what was left of an ancient volcano that had exploded; first hiking over the rim and then down into the crater, known as the Shira plateau. At about the 6. I woke up the 4. By the time we reached Uhuru peak, it was about 4:45 am. Caleb and I were freezi...

The Cameroon Chronicles: October 2011

http://www.thecameroonchronicles.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

Tuesday, October 25, 2011. 1 down, 5 to go. Turns out, my neighbor’s chest pain was in fact due to acid reflux, and my prescription of pepto bismol was dead on. I credit my medical savviness to the fact that I’m brown and obviously genetically predisposed to being a doctor. Yet alas, I am a Peace Corps Volunteer in Africa. Again, sorry mom. http://www.thecameroonchronicles.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Not only was he incredibly friendly, but he also enjoyed annihilating household pests. That includes mice, lizards, roaches… he even ate wasps. He took care of the rodent problem almost immediately. Simba and I got pretty tight and hung out on a regular basis. To say the least, I was s...

So much has happened. during the preceding couple months my life has revolved around 2 things; the 'Climb Kili for Literacy' project and the GMAT exam. Http:/ climbkiliforlit.weebly.com/. I'm proud to announce that we have already met our $8,000 fundraising goal! I have been training of course but will need to pick up the pace as the climb is less than a month away.
