Friday, April 24, 2009. More Tuning and getting ready for our Yarrabee excursion. Our first real excursion for the year is getting closer. I'm excited even if the kids aren't! Today we did another 'Tuning In' activity. We put the students into groups and gave each group a photo of an olden days object that they might see at Yarrabee. Wednesday, April 29, 2009. Yarrabee Excursion and Follow Up. We headed over to have an assembly including standing at attention and singing "God save the King". They also got a demonstration of some of the punishments that were commonly used at schools in the olden days. This included: putting your nose on the blackboard, the cane, the strap, having to stand on your chair and getting the dunce hat.
