Special topics in mathematics for my 7 year old. March 14th, 2013. March 14th is Pi Day in honor of the transcendental number that starts out 3.14. It is also Albert Einstein's birthday. I wrote the decimal expansion of pi to 5 decimal places on scrap paper: 3.14159.
