http://herestomwiththeweather.blogspot.com/2008/06/coffeehouse-20.html
Monday, June 23, 2008. An interesting thing happened on Friday. I showed up for the weekly Jelly. At 10 The wireless router was on its last legs. I twittered. A heads up. Jelly was still happening but without wi-fi and wi-fi is the sine qua non. So, after weighing alternatives, Stephen Gutknecht. See you next time! This work is licensed ...

herestomwiththeweather: StartupCampAustin
http://herestomwiththeweather.blogspot.com/2008/08/startupcampaustin.html
Tuesday, August 05, 2008. Here's Brandon Wiley welcoming everyone to StartupCampAustin. In the first session in the Quadrangle room, the tables were arranged facing the podium but there was no speaker because sessions were topic-driven, not speaker-driven. We decided to scrap our expectations from previous barcamps and we rearranged the tables in a circle, campfire-style. This first session was on scaling. A facilitator was chosen and we were off! But we're too big to fail! Brandon and Joey Lopez. Austin...

herestomwiththeweather: StartupCampAustin - August 2nd
http://herestomwiththeweather.blogspot.com/2008/07/startupcampaustin-august-2nd.html
Thursday, July 17, 2008. StartupCampAustin - August 2nd. Tonight at Tech Night at MonkeyWrench Books. There was a conversation about Twitter which drifted into a conversation about the more decentralized open-source identi.ca. Done by Evan Prodromou. My mis-pronounciation of Evan's name sounded familiar enough to Brandon Wiley, the original coder of Freenet. After the meeting, Brandon reminded us about Startup Camp Austin. And I asked Brandon if I could get him to do a PSA for the event and he agreed.

herestomwiththeweather: To Kill a Mockingbird's 50th Anniversary
http://herestomwiththeweather.blogspot.com/2010/07/to-kill-mockingbirds-50th-anniversary.html
Sunday, July 11, 2010. To Kill a Mockingbird's 50th Anniversary. Maybe 20 years ago, a friend let me borrow a copy of To Kill a Mockingbird. The 50th anniversary reminds me that I need to return it. It's no surprise that this book has come under criticism. It tells a kind of story that is not often heard. It is when Jem is allowed to have a rifle that we learn the meaning of the title. Atticus says. In I Remember Atticus. Jim Perdue explains this reference. Why we must shoot the Mockingbird. From the blu...

herestomwiththeweather: March 2005
http://herestomwiththeweather.blogspot.com/2005_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 31, 2005. I started reading Kevin Booth's book Bill Hicks: Agent of Evolution. Although Kevin lives in Austin, the book is now only available in the UK). Lots of good stories so far from Bill's closest friend. Sitting at the front table at one show was an oil-rich patron and his entire entourage:. They were there with a girl. Her birthday. They were acting like they owned the place, talking loudly but tipping huge. Twenty bucks a drink, stripping the bills off a huge wad. He sees tables a...

David was recently interviewed about SharingHope by Connie Reece.

herestomwiththeweather: This is high drama
http://herestomwiththeweather.blogspot.com/2008/07/this-is-high-drama.html
Sunday, July 13, 2008. This is high drama. So says Charlie Rose in his recent interview. With JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon in regards to what has been called the Bear Stearns bailout. Bear Stearns did not get bailed out. Bear Stearns was given to JP Morgan Chase by American taxpayers. Senator Christopher Dodd, chair of the Senate Banking Committee, made this clear in this All Things Considered interview at NPR. However, there was no mention of the conflict of interest. I have submitted a question here.
