Suburban Farm Biz - Microscale Farming in the Burbs
Microscale Farming in the Burbs. Our first keyhole garden was built this weekend. I had to make two trips to our local big box garden center to purchase the 12 inch paver bricks. I ended up buying a total of sixty-four bricks with 8 bricks left over from this build. The bricks cost $1.80 each so the total cost of the project was about $100 total. Below are some helpful links I found on building keyhole gardens. Http:/ www.inspirationgreen.com/keyhole-gardens.html. February 23, 2015.
The Suburban Farm
July 6, 2015. Four years ago today I went into the hospital at 8:30 in the morning. Four hours later Ferris was born. In the beginning he was the most serious baby we had ever met. His favorite person in the whole wide world is his big brother, he LOVES the color black, and will eat peanut butter and jelly for three meals a day. He is. March 2, 2015.

Farm where you are. Thursday, March 24, 2011. A gardener's journey of faith. My word for this year was serious,. But now I think it should have been journey. I was shaky in my own faith and so it made me wonder; How can a woman who has lived that long in life believe that once you die that's it? You go in the ground and compost is your only legacy, your only reward? For some reason, that revelation shook my entire faith existence and for a few years, I was actually ambivalent. My little farm in the suburbs has moved to a real farm. I'm Lisa and this site is about my adventures of having a farm. It started out in the suburbs, in our cookie-cutter house where I kept my chickens and ducks and kept the neighbors quiet by giving free eggs and produce we grew. The farm was purchased in August 2011 but life being what it is, we didn't actually move until October. In that time the farm has been growing. It is Spring - new life abounds!
