Tithe Barn / Vestry | St Cuthbert's Church, Carlisle

The Tithe Barn is thought to have been built in about 1480 by Prior Gondibour. It has had a complicated history since then, function as a barn until the Dissolution of the Monasteries by King Henry VIII, and then as a stable, dispensary, dwelling house, and joiner's shop. Semi derelict by 1970, it was purchased and restored by St Cuthbert's Church and has been used as our Church Hall since then. The Tithe Barn can be hired at the following rates. Church of England Groups ( 25.00 per hour).

The Anglican worship is fairly traditonal as we follow the Common Worship format and lectionary. Sunday school (Junior Church). Meets in the Parish Office in St Cuthbert’s Church during the 11am Sunday morning service. All children are welcome - just bring them through to Karen, Rosemary and Kate. In Junior Church we worship God and learn about the Christian faith in a variety of ways, using songs, games and activities that are age-appropriate and Bible-based. We also have fun! Under 3's welcome with a parent/carer. All Leaders are DBS checked. Look out for information about our next event.
