A blog about becoming and being a single adoptive parent. Having just celebrated Thanksgiving, I’ve been thinking alot about what I’m grateful for. And while the big things are important: family, friends, health, security and safety, the little things I think are sometimes even more so. So in thinking about my daughter there are a bunch I things I feel very lucky for:. She loves going for rides on my bike. She’s a great sleeper. She can play in the bath or brush her teeth forever. She’s really cute.

Still, alone at home with a scared and sad little girl who needed constant 24 hour attention, none of those things seemed to matter. What mattered most, it seemed to me, was that I was alone. A blog about becoming and being a single adoptive parent. I’m lucky that I’m doing ok financially and that I’ve had the opportunity to pursue higher education. I enjoy my own company and while I’ve been in long term relationships, at this point in my life, I’m focused on developing a relationship with my new child.
