Swatching | Armed with Needles in an Uncertain World
https://knitickyboo.wordpress.com/2013/10/02/swatching
Armed with Needles in an Uncertain World. Just another WordPress.com weblog. October 2, 2013. It appears one cannot have a knitting blog without posting at least once about the joys and perils of swatching. I am not a swatcher. BUT, I am completely ok with pulling out a ball’s worth of project on the discovery that it is going to be too big (it’s never too small). You would think that, by now, I would have just learnt to go down a needle size, but it’s not every project! This is a tale of a swatch though.

N-joy | Recipe for a yarn

Recipe for a yarn. A Yorkshire lass on knitting, spinning and life in general. Larr; Homely Habitat hat. August 3, 2011. I don’t think the thrill of making yarn will ever wear off. The more I do it the better it gets. Each new fibre is the opportunity to explore and create, the possiblities are vast. I’ve spun half of the BFL angora silk tops that I dyed earlier in this post. I love how the colours turned out. On the needles is Habitat by Jared Flood. How much am I enjoying cabling? Thanks Sonia. The...

Recipe for a yarn. A Yorkshire lass on knitting, spinning and life in general. August 6, 2011. I finished this project yesterday evening tried it on and it fits beautifully. Washed it an dried it flat, not much, ok, any blocking done really. It didn’t shrink or grow hurrah! Maybe my mojo has returned. What’s not to love? It was also a speedy knit, extra bonus points! With this in mind I will be buying more Shelter. I think it’s an absolutely perfect name for the look book, also there is a cabled be...

Recipe for a yarn. A Yorkshire lass on knitting, spinning and life in general. August 1, 2011. Happy Yorkshire day everyone! Today is the day that Yorkshire folk celebrate their Yorkshireness and all things Yorkshire. I shall be wearing my White Rose of Yorkshire with pride at knit night tonight. It came in a kit for from baa ram ewe. So I thought I would celebrate with posting some facts about my hometown of Doncaster in South Yorkshire as an expression of my pride. Mysterious! | Armed with Needles in an Uncertain World
https://knitickyboo.wordpress.com/2013/10/10/mysterious
Armed with Needles in an Uncertain World. Just another WordPress.com weblog. October 10, 2013. I’m taking part in my first mystery knit along! It’s from Boo Knits and I’ve always liked her patterns. It’s Halloween themed, so I was considering using the blood red lace weight I picked up in Bath, but decided to go with a beautiful inky midnight blue that I had just bought in Edinburgh. I’m liking it so far, hopefully I’ll love it once we get on to the dramatic edging I’m expecting. Enter your comment here.

Armed with Needles in an Uncertain World. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Another ending, another beginning. December 31, 2013. It’s the end of the year. How did that happen? Same as every year, in a flurry of frantic activity and good eating, spent with lovely friends (though not family this year! Forgive the shocking photos, but I finished the most beautiful jumper that I’ve been wanting to knit for absolutely ages two days ago. Emily by Kim Hargreaves, knit in the recommended Kid Classic. I frogged...
