Wednesday, March 18, 2009. I ordered chicken eye the other day at lunch. It was an accident, obviously. I was trying to order chicken with garlic,. Pollo con ajo,. But instead I asked for. I thought it was pretty funny. On this same day I also saw a dog walking down the road carrying a dead dog's head in its mouth. There's always something happening in Guatemala. I thought it was odd to see a little girl just hanging out on the barrel of fuel eating a snack. A monkey at Angkor Wat. I spent 4 days exploring the temples and they were truly amazing! Sunday, April 5, 2009. Turns out, they weren't free. Good thing I didn't rip mine open like I had wanted. I was fighting the urge to do that, trying to avoid looking so gluttenous on the bus! Once the man got to the back of the bus he turned around and made his way back to the front saying, "Cinco Quetzales por tres" which means three candybars for about 80 cents. I tossed mine back in the box as he passed, disappointed. On a side note, I'm officially on vacation! Oh, the pleasure of a cheesy pun!

Monday, July 28, 2008. Worth a thousand words.Laos. Laos was the country where I grew accustomed to seeing monks every day. These three rode with us on the slow boat from the border of Laos to Luang. I learned that it is a common practice in Laos for men to serve in a monastery for two years and then resume their normal lives. These are the type of boats we road in for two days to Luang. Sunday, June 1, 2008. Oh say can you see. While sitting in a park in Saigon, we met a Vietnamese man that wanted to practice his English with us. We took him to dinner and met a German man and a Chinese man sitting together eating soup on the street. We joined them and got a concert by the Chinese man. Japan - Summer 2007. Monday, July 16, 2007. The Typhoon Followed by an Earthquake! Well, after this morning I can now cross earthquake off my list of natural disasters I have yet to experience! Anyway, we went into Tokyo today expecting there to be less people because of the holiday - but in a city of 14 million people I don't think you could ever have a day with few people! I also ate many traditional Japanese snacks and candies today - none of which I particularily enjoyed! Smile for zero yen!

Japan - Summer 2007. Tuesday, June 26, 2007. I don:t have much time - just wanted to let everyone know that I am now in Tokyo! I will write more when I can. I:m not sure how much I will have access to a computer - but I will try my hardest to keep you updated! Wednesday, June 20, 2007. Just wanted to share a few pictures with you! Cars parked on the sidewalk! I'm not sure what this was.but it was good. As you can see I am perfecting my chopstick skills! We ordered chicken and rice and got CHICKEN BUTT.
