The ATV specialty members provide highly skilled ATV riders to assist in many aspects of SAR incident operations. SCCSSAR has access to four ATV's which may be assigned to assist with initial hasty searches, containment duties, equipment transportation or subject evacuation. While it is not necessary to own an ATV to be a member of this specialty team, participants are expected to provide the required personal safety equipment such as a DOT approved off-road motorcycle helmet, goggles and gloves.

Currently, the team has 70 active members with training and certification in Advanced First Aid, Rescue Systems I, Tracking, Swift Water Rescue, Rope Rescue, Large Animal Rescue and Search Management, as well as Canine, Equine and ATV SAR techniques. The team's members attend a minimum of 16 hours of training each month and personally invest hundreds to thousands of dollars in their own personal equipment.
