I saw this sign in Subway recently to sign up for the “ Pound for Pound Challenge. 8220; Basically, for every pound you lose, General Mills will donate 10 to Feeding America, an organization that provides food to local food banks. I sat and listened to Neal Ford this morning at TSSJS talk about the problem of increasing complexity in Java frameworks and using Domain Specific Languages (DSLs) to help the situation. While I found his talk informative and entertaining, it wouldn’t be a Neal Ford talk without the usual jabs at XML. Is XML really all that evil? I mean, honestly now. Am I the only person who thinks XML isn’t really all THAT bad?

So, I recently installed Ubuntu. 804 (the Hardy Heron release) on my desktop machine at home and I’m loving it. I have an AMD64 processor, so I installed the 64-bit version of Ubuntu. Holy freakin’ cow, this OS flies. It’s amazing how the same hardware works so much smoother. As an Associate Member. Check out the snazzy button in the widget panel on the right. This has been a process I have been dreading as when ever you move and download the new installers there is almost always some weird error message or behavior that wasn't previously present.
