Presidio Purse Revisited | Seams and Finishes
http://seamsandfinishes.com/2014/02/02/presidio-purse-revisited-2
Sewing, Machine Embroidery and Serendipity! The weather here is finally warm enough to consider taking pictures outside and showing off what I have been working on- my adaptation of the Presidio Purse! In case you missed it, Seamstress Erin has just finished a sew along. With that information, I started to modify the pattern by overlapping the bottom portion of the pattern by that 1 3/4 inches. Then I made some adjustments to the combined side/bottom piece and created a muslin. I knew right away ...Overl...

Sew Live. Laugh. Love. Tuesday, 29 April 2014. I've been meaning to make a coat for Faith for a while now but never quite got around to it. I picked up some fabric for her a while ago and with the weather getting nicer (lasted all of a week! I felt bad that the only options she had were a too warm winter coat or a not warm enough hoody so I dug the fabric out and two nights later had this done:. Use a small, sharp needle. Set the machine to a longer stitch length. And it looks like a bit too much of a fa...

Wonderfully Made: Want to see some of what we've been doing?

Monday, January 27, 2014. Want to see some of what we've been doing? Today, I realized that it's been a month since I've blogged. Or sewn anything. Or done much of anything other than work on the store. So here's the lowdown on the last month's major news. We were sharing a space with someone to get our feet wet with the whole retail shop thing. Which was probably about the best thing that I could have done, but the worst thing I could have done! On Saturday, we open for our first day of business here:.
sew and so: 9 months in the making
http://sew-and-so.blogspot.com/2015/07/9-months-in-making.html
July 2, 2015. 9 months in the making. Believe it or not, I can actually do a small June round-up. Although I haven't had a chance to take pictures yet, for the most part. So this month, I. Finished all of the hand-sewing on the second quiet book, thanks to a week where I literally had nothing left to do except hang out at my parents' while Doug was at work and wait to see if I'd go into labor. All that needs to be done is to sew the finished pages back-to-back with the machine, and assemble the book.

All of my photos are currently residing somewhere “safe”. I’m not sure where that is at the moment. Our computer died Tuesday, just about the time my bike was stolen from the BART station, it was one of those days…. So take a breath and keep your fingers crossed that the new mother board works. the memory...

Saturday, February 18, 2012. That said, I've set some lofty sewing goals for myself in 2012. I haven't finalized the list of patterns I'd like to attempt, but definitely want to try my hand at some new challenges. If - and that's a big if - I am successful, then maybe I'll even try making a dress for a fall wedding. But that's a long way off. Hopefully I'll be good about posting this year. I'm sure I will have lots to share if I am tackling tougher projects! Thursday, August 19, 2010. I'm clawing my way ...

Seams & Stitches - Blog
From the Archives - Elizabethan Corset. From the Archives is a series where I show my earlier works - the good and the bad. The idea is to eventually use this as a portfolio, and it also gives me a chance to re=look at what I've previously made. This was my first foray into historical costuming back in 2005-2006. I wanted to make a semi historically accurate costume for the Renaissance Faire (set during Queen Elizabeth the First's reign) and that began with the underpinnings. I also have to do some searc...
