There are quite a few things to see at the Rock of Gibraltar, but since it had already taken us so long to make our way up there and we wanted to leave time for the kids to swim, we only ended up stopping at the Ape's den to get some great views and see the monkeys. July 12-15, 2013). We walked into town and found a little place for dinner. In the morning we started off with a Rick Steve’s Salzburg walking tour. Starting at seeing the glockenspiel at the New Residenz, then went into the Salzburg Dom (Cathedral) which was built in 1628 and only took 14 years to build. Sunday, March 30, 2014. Rothenburg ob der Tauber. September 23, 2013}. You can walk along parts of the city wall, but since we had a stroller, we decided to do that on the next trip. Our first stop was St. Jakob's Church which was built in the 14th century. The highlight of the church is tucked away up the stairs in the back- the Altar of the Holy Blood, which is a 500 year old carving by Tilman Riemenschmeider (the Michelangelo of German woodcarvers). Sunday, March 09, 2014. On our last day in Italy we drove to the resort town of Portofino by way of a very. Narrow coastal road. This beautiful town was worth the white knuckle drive! After strolling through the tiny town, we hiked up to the Castello Brown (more of a home than a castle) on top of the hill overlooking the harbor. Gray loved playing in the rocks in the garden}. Tuesday, April 01, 2014. September 25, 2013}. We couldn't resist going back to Ludwigsburg Palace for the Pumpkin festival. Each year they have a theme and build sculptures with gourds around that theme. This year's theme was the Olympics. Rapunzel's tower in the background}. After eating delicious Kerbis (pumpkin) soup, the kids got to stop and play in the hay pit. A rare family photo}. Avery adores her brother!
