Tuesday, January 25, 2011. Today is my last day in Afghanistan (this trip). We left this morning to head over to the river to see the "wall" that was put up to stop a lot of the crime in a community. Sunday, January 23, 2011. While in Jalalabad I had to go to the markets and make sure to buy some of the fabric that the area is known for. I ended up getting some beautiful handmade dresses, a decorative pillow for our apartment, and shoes that look like they would be worn by Princess Jasmine in the Disney movie! Sunday, January 23, 2011. On Wednesday, January 19, 2011 the girls and I went to Sharzai Park. It is a beautiful area! Females in Afghanistan are only allowed to go to the park on Wednesdays with their children. males are not allowed in at this time. In one of my favorite movies, Sex and the City 2, the Muslim women, behind closed doors, pull off their burkas to show the vibrant colors and designers they are wearing underneath. well I felt like it was deja vu. The women were beautiful! The stands of food.
