Run, Run River. Carry me to my home in the ocean. Carry me away." - jon swift. When I last left off, Nate and I were in Prattville, Alabama with my parents for a couple of nights. We ate some good food, watched a lot of football and had a great time catching up with them! Thanks for coming to see us Mom and Dad! They dropped us off at Cooter's Pond Park and we had a windy 8 mile paddle to Gunter Hill Campground. The beavers kept slapping their tails at us like we needed to get out of their way! Because o...

My Birthday Party: Two Months Late. For my 25th birthday party celebration surprise weekend, my dear friends ( Mary and Dave. And husband treated me to a weekend away down on the ole Alabama coast. The Bon Secour River and the Gulf of Mexico proved to be just the right mix of fun and sun for this girl! On our way to South Alabama, we stopped at this peaches stand and talked to this sweet man about his sweet peaches! Those were some of the yummiest peaches I've ever had! Out to eat at The Tin Top. Overall...

Saturday, Sunday and Saying See Ya Later (not goodbye). On Saturday morning, we loaded up in the bus and headed to Jinja, Uganda to visit Katie Davis. Amazima is a little different from the mission of Agape, but there is a place for both of these ministries in this beautiful country. After some singing and praying, we again got into our bus and drove to the Nile River to take a lunch "cruise" on a double decker boat. I touched the Nile River with my own two hands! They even had a part where some of the c...

From new year's to newborns. Friday, December 13, 2013. So I generally brag on my children. That's fine, because my children are exceptional (as are yours too, of course! This time I'm bragging on myself. Thanks to Pinterest, I found some super easy and inexpensive Christmas crafts. I'm elated with the results! This is our Advent tree. I am ashamed to admit that I do not really know much about Advent. I should learn. I have to show you something awesome! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). So much has ch...

http://newyearstonewborns.blogspot.com/2013/12/lilas-been-talking-again.html
From new year's to newborns. Friday, December 13, 2013. Lila's Been Talking Again. While out and about earlier this week, we were listening to Christmas music as usual. Lila was in the backseat asking me, "What's mommy wop? I really had no idea what she was even saying, much less what she meant. As I continued to ask what, she said, "Why they keep saying mommy wop? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Verse of the Day. So much has changed since Jared and I met New Year's Eve, 2004. We married in '07, ...

From new year's to newborns. Thursday, October 24, 2013. A few days ago, Lila told Beckett to give her a haircut. He promptly got out the tool set. Literally, a (plastic) tool set. He got great volume in Lila's hair with the hacksaw. This has turned into a favorite game, for Lila at least. Tuesday, October 8, 2013. It A-Piers They Like It! We paid a few dollars to access the pier, then headed out amongst all the fisher-people. Lila and Beckett were fascinated! It was a great day! Verse of the Day. So muc...

http://newyearstonewborns.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
From new year's to newborns. Tuesday, August 13, 2013. On Friday, August 9th, our little man turned 2! We celebrated for two days straight and are still recovering. We started out Friday morning with a trip to the movies. Opened that day, so we loaded up. As much as Beckett loves. We knew he would be up for this. Cute, not as cute as cars. I am concerned with the language that is now in children's programming, but that's a soapbox for another blog post. Could have saved quite a few dollars! The next morn...

Africa and the Kingdom of God. One month from yesterday, Nate will be making his way to Uganda, Africa. One month from Wednesday, I will be making my way to Uganda, Africa. Even typing those words seems a bit strange, but all so comfortable in the same way. Living it. Living what? What are we living while we are here? Just like we will only be in Uganda for a short period of time, aren't all of us only on this earth for a short while too? The life that isn't ours to begin with. Matthew 22/ Luke 14).
