Debt Free in 40: December 2010
http://debtfreein40.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Debt Free in 40. 125,000. 40 months. Gone. Come along with us and see how we do it. Thursday, December 23, 2010. At some point I'm hoping either my wife or I can post something meaningful or useful here, but for now, I thought I'd give you a bit of a wrap-up for the year 2010 and let you know where things stand with us. First of all, as you can see at the right, as of this writing, we've paid off over $36,000 of our original $124,000 of debt. That's a great feeling, but there's still a long way to go.

Debt Free in 40: Ask, and Ye Shall Receive

Debt Free in 40. 125,000. 40 months. Gone. Come along with us and see how we do it. Saturday, July 2, 2011. Ask, and Ye Shall Receive. As Independence Day lurks just around the corner, I've been taking some time to consider the great American spirit of self-reliance. As Americans, we are masters of our destinies. We need not seek the help of others to reach our goals. We are . invincible. [said with whispered awe]. What that other person has been looking for. Posted by Ellen R. Krug. When I'm not trying ...

Debt Free in 40: How Much Rain Am I Expecting?
http://debtfreein40.blogspot.com/2011/07/how-much-rain-am-i-expecting.html
Debt Free in 40. 125,000. 40 months. Gone. Come along with us and see how we do it. Saturday, July 9, 2011. How Much Rain Am I Expecting? I made a decision last week, one that has the potential to shape our financial future for years to come. It was a hard decision, and I made it while drinking coffee and staring at an Excel spreadsheet. I decided to stop adding money to our Rainy Day Account. I stopped contributing to our Rainy Day Account with just over $7,000 in it. Not quite three months. We've got f...

Debt Free in 40: June 2010
http://debtfreein40.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Debt Free in 40. 125,000. 40 months. Gone. Come along with us and see how we do it. Sunday, June 20, 2010. Made a difference in how much extra we're able to put against our loans. It's at times like this I'm reminded of the movie Contact,. Even at times like this where I can't put $300 or $500 at a time toward a loan, I can still put $15 or $25 toward them. True, it doesn't drop the balance as much as I might wish, but it does. Let us know in the comment section. Posted by Jason W. Krug. When I'm not try...

Debt Free in 40: And the Results are In
http://debtfreein40.blogspot.com/2013/04/and-results-are-in.html
Debt Free in 40. 125,000. 40 months. Gone. Come along with us and see how we do it. Thursday, April 4, 2013. And the Results are In. At the time, there was really nothing going on in our lives to indicate we would get anywhere close. We were both working. We were living below our means. We had no plans to rack up any new debt along the way. Our incomes were nice, but between us, we certainly weren't approaching six figures, though we were in the upper half of five-figure incomes. So even though the "Debt...

Debt Free in 40. 125,000. 40 months. Gone. Come along with us and see how we do it. Friday, September 20, 2013. 5/26/2004 - 9/18/2013 R.I.P. . and Good Riddance! I have a confession to make . I am a killer. I have killed without remorse, without regret, and - to tell you the God's honest truth - I kinda enjoyed it. To make matters worse, my victim was barely nine years old, not even through a third of its expected life cycle. To be fair . this thing. How did we kill this fell beast? This one is not recom...

Debt Free in 40. 125,000. 40 months. Gone. Come along with us and see how we do it. Saturday, August 28, 2010. Own Your Home Faster and Cheaper. I was just over on the ING Direct site looking at a table of interest rates while lamenting the pathetically-low return we're getting on our savings and checking accounts over there, when I scrolled down the screen and did a double take. The best part (and part of why I love ING Direct so much), is that they encourage. Having used the Easy Orange for several mon...

Debt Free in 40: January 2013
http://debtfreein40.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Debt Free in 40. 125,000. 40 months. Gone. Come along with us and see how we do it. Wednesday, January 2, 2013. An Update and a Confession. I have to say, I'm impressed even with myself - not a single post in all of 2012. I knew my wife and I were writing sporadically on this blog, but the last we wrote, my wife was barely pregnant with our son. Does that mean this blog and the goal behind it have been a failure? I firmly believe that, because of this goal - even though we won't hit it. So, that's where ...

Debt Free in 40: October 2011
http://debtfreein40.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Debt Free in 40. 125,000. 40 months. Gone. Come along with us and see how we do it. Thursday, October 13, 2011. What could be so distracting? What could be so distracting that we haven't posted a new post in months? Why haven't we at least updated the savings/debt totals? As of yesterday, I am 16 week pregnant! In addition, I've been on the hunt for as many free samples and free programs as I can find. My OB educator gave me several samples at my first appointment, and I have signed up for free diape...
