Our next Annual General Meeting will be held at the Petone Library meeting room on Thursday 22nd of September, 2016 commencing at 7:30pm. Catchpool Earth Day 2016. Friday 22nd April, 2016 9:30 - 12:30. Meet at the Trust kiosk at the top car park at 9:30am. Cousin Peter and my brother Gary returning from the Burt Munro rally in Invercargil, called in for a cuppa today. So decided to join them for a ride out of town, up the Paekakariki Hill road. Skip to main content. Building a Sanctuary for Steam. The Rimutaka Incline Railway Heritage Trust aims to reinstate and operate a world-class heritage railway between Wellington and the Wairarapa. The Railway will be a unique tourist attraction for Wellington and New Zealand, and a major contributor to the regional economy. Loop track build starts. The loop will initially be used as a storage siding and will be useful to shunt wagons and carriages that are 'uphill' of our shunt loco. On 3 April 2015.

Rimutaka Forest Park is a magnificent area of mostly native forest in the hills east of New Zealands capital city, Wellington. It encompasses the Rimutaka Ranges and the Orongorongo River, just north of the spectacular earthquake terraces and seal colony at the Turakirae Head Scientific Reserve. The Park is characterised by steep, bush-clad hills and narrow fern-filled valleys cut by abundant freshwater streams and the beautiful Orongorongo River. It has been active in bringing about many improvements.
