I love the colors and textures that nature gives us!
Metal Clay Work | Rhonda Scott Studio
https://rhondascottstudio.com/Metal_Clay.php
Metal clay is almost magical! It starts out looking like a little bit of clay. It can be molded, sculpted, carved, stamped, and shaped in countless ways. After drying and sanding, the little bit of clay is fired in a kiln (or sometimes with a torch). All the clay-like parts burn off completely and real metal is left behind- real silver, real gold (I can't afford to work with that! Real copper or bronze. Some elbow grease brings out the shine and you are done!
Handcrafted Enamel Work | Rhonda Scott Studio
https://rhondascottstudio.com/Enamel.html
Enameling is the process of fusing powdered glass to another surface through the application of heat (kiln or torch). Enamels add delicious color and depth to the surfaces they decorate. The copper and iron beads above were enameled made using a torch. Watch for more photos.

Rhonda Scott Studio: Never Stop Learning: Image Transfer!
http://rhondascottstudio.blogspot.com/2013/02/never-stop-learning-image-transfer.html
Thursday, February 14, 2013. Never Stop Learning: Image Transfer! Sometimes I take a class because I want to learn a particular technique: How does this work? What can you do with it? Sometimes I take a class because I am interested in the teacher: I enjoy seeing how people convey ideas, demonstrate their skills, or relate to their students. Sometimes I take a class for the pure fun of it. This time I got all three! I even took this class without a buddy. I LOVE old photos. Here is a look at the finished...

Rhonda Scott Studio: February 2013
http://rhondascottstudio.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Be a Force of Good. I have two very different stories today. Story number 2: One busy day last week, I swung into the drive thru of a local sandwich shop for lunch. The person who took my order was cheerful and polite. He seemed happy as he handed me my perfectly made sandwich and wished me a good day. It wasn't until I got home that I saw the kitty. The person who made that perfect sandwich had written "Kitty! Thursday, February 14, 2013. Never Stop Learning: Image Transfer!

Thursday, February 7, 2013. I Do One Thing at a Time (Or Unpacking, Part 1). I walk with a good friend every Monday. It's always a chance to brainstorm, dream, agonize, or question. This week I was talking- or was I complaining? The companion piece to this, the more dangerous part? Unpacking is a good thing. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Friday, February 8, 2013. Never Stop Learning: Encaustics! Since I had to put so much mental energy into the last post, I decided a little respite was in order. So, let's talk about playing! I love, love, love to take classes. Play with new materials, see how another teacher works, meet new people. The only downside is that I always want to rush out a buy as many new supplies as my arms can carry. Perhaps you can relate! Here is our palette- yummy colors! Friday, January 25, 2013. Dreaming of Road Trips Past: Creative Entrepreneurs in Rural Iowa. Sometimes you just need to get out of town. I've been feeling that way for a few weeks. It's gray and cold- hard to feel inspired. When my studio was a big mess, the itch to get in the car and drive was even stronger. Have you had that feeling? Next on the list? I'd like to say we got things figured out, but of course, we mostly found we had more questions. But we had a day of sunshine, laughter, and some pre...
